West Indies Air Force Ones 2006
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Jul 17, 2006| The West Indies for 2005 were a let down for me personally. They were the first black based shoe and were more of a Jamaica inspired colorway than for the West Indies. My Grenadian friends and I felt pretty left out.
This year, Nike is going to make Jamaica Air Force Ones AND West Indies Air Force Ones. These West Indies Air Force Ones are the traditional colors of the shoe - White, Green, Red, and Golden Yellow. These kicks received alot of inspiration from the Puerto Rico Air Force Ones from this year replacing the stitched logo on the back quarter panel with a large painted logo instead. These are a must have for anyone from the West Indies or for anyone who wants some hot shoes. We will update you with the info on release dates asap. |

just for kevin’s information…guyana is a part of the WEST INDIES. guyana is not a caribbean island, but is definitely a part of the west indies. we should be on the sneaker also. i have one…and still rock it.

Guyana may not be on the sole but this guyanese chick will be rockin the hard.
Furthermore, Guyana is actually located at the point where the Caribbean meets South America on it’s North Atlantic seaboard, which is historically and culturally part of the caribbean region. Therefore guyana is technically part of the caribbean, which also makes it the only Caribbean/West Indian country.

Theses Sneaks are Fire. THe colors represent the west indies lovely. Every flag has at least on of those colors and what betta that red gold and green. And to the Comment about Africa and the west indies. I feel they should come out with Africa air force ones but there are many flags in the west indies (Grenada, St Kitts, Dominica, Guyana and if you include Suriname). So to say those are only ethiopian or african colors. West Indians should be united and those colors are a great representation. IM From Gt and those have all of the colors in my flag except for black. So west indies stand up because we have a great looking sneaker

Guyana and Belize should be on there 2 as said previously they are just as much part of the West Indies. We share everything except for the fact that we are on the continent. The two countries are the only 2 West Indian nations. Im a guyanese so yes we deserve to be mentioned on the sneaker not just because of cricket

I hear you on that. But, Guyana is more of a West Indies nation than cricket - the culture and history ties it close with the rest of the West Indies.
When I was in school in Grenada, Belieze was always on the list too yet they are not on the shoe. Belieze was also on the list mainly due to all being an english speaking, British colony. After each recieved their independance, Guyana and Belieze are major trading partners with the rest of the West Indies, thus forming CARICOM.
