Nike Air Force 25 Beijing “Tiananmen Square”
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Mar 19, 2007| Something that is even more crazy than the Air Force Ones being 25 years old is that we are less than a year away from qualifying rounds for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Nike has made Beijing edition Air Force 25s as part of its upcoming campaign of city specific Air Force 25s. From what we have heard, there will also be NYC, LA, Tokyo editions as well.
Something that took us by surprise was that these sneakers draw a little bit of attention to a location in Beijing, Tiananmen Square. The characters on the boot of the shoe read “East Single Way” which is one of the roads that borders the notorious landmark. Its amazing that these have been made available for sale because of this considering the Chinese government blocks Wikipedia since Tiananmen Square is mentioned throughout the online encyclopedia.
