Leaders 1354 x Reebok Reverse Jam
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Feb 19, 2008| Reebok has had some major success with the recently re-released Reverse Jam. Splattered paint was all the buzz for these shoes when they originally released and as trends tend to rotate, speaking of this cosmetic detail, things have come full circle.
Reebok got with Leaders 1354 of Chicago to cook up a special limited pair. This collab is the first for this shop with a sneaker company, but anticipate more coming by the end of ‘08. The sneaker was inspired by Chicago’s Subway system. The colors splattered on the midsole and laces are different train lines in the Chicago circuit and in case you want to find out which line to take to get down to their shop on Milwaukee, flip the shoe over and check the map on the sole. A release date hasn’t been set in stone yet, but look for them to pull in around summer time. Pics thanks to Complex. |

I own the the green and purple ones, they were hot but these are much hotter. When do they come out? Where can you get them? What sizes do they start at?

I hate the splattered midsole. Man, why can’t shoe companies just put straight white on the rubber, anymore? They look ridiculous. And, to be honest, from far away, I’m sure it looks like your shoes are messed up.

There are actually two shoes coming out of this particular collaboration. This one was made to represent the Blue Line, the train you catch to hit Leaders North (Milwaukee stop). There will be another, themed after the Red Line, the one you get on when headed to Leaders South (47th stop). Just a word of advice: If you plan to ride the Red Line el, invest in some nose plugs. And look out for that dude selling socks too. He’s hilarious.

I personally liked how Reebok worked in the Leaders 1354 name onto the tongue in a matching font. So many times a shop or brand’s name is just slapped on the side or back of a shoe and it doesn’t fit with the rest of the shoe.
The laces are really a nice touch on these too. I think Starks has made us all a lot more attentive to that part of the shoe.
