Air Jordan 4 Black/Red Countdown Pack
Posted by Matt Halfhill | May 14, 2008 While many Air Jordan heads will be looking forward to the 24th of this month when the Carmine Jordan 6 returns, there are just as many looking forward to the return of the Black/Red Jordan 4 in July. Packaged with the Jordan 19, it goes without much discussion that lines will form for the Jordan 4 part of the pack. Only two times prior were these released with the first being in 1989 and a year shy of a decade ago in 1999.
The Jordan 4 underwent some silhouette shape changes since returning in 2004, but besides that and the missing “Nike Air”, the shoes are on point. Truly a classic that should not be slept on. Pics thanks to footalog.

well, i like them. but i’ll be damned if i ever get a pair of 18’s,19’s,20’s, or 21’s. the 22’s are ok. but so far the only package where i like both shoes are the 14-9’s. i like my 13-10’s but i never wore the 10’s yet. stil haven’t figured out what to do with them yet.anyways. i would prefer him releasing these j’s for a lil more as 1 pair than buying both. i would pay 220 for these, maybe a lil more.my friend just sold his 21’s from the 21 2 package for 120. he’s taking a loss, but thats wat im going to start doing too. i cant wait for the 11-12s. ooooo baby, those will sell out quick.

Just can’t pass it. Probably my absolute favorite jordan. I can see that its not the same as the older versions and I hear the quality isn’t that good, but I still just can’t pass it.

I have the Jordan 4 from 1999 deadstocked in perfect condition. Someone make me an offer because the one coming out in July pales in comparison. Imagine how you would straight herb everyone else on launch day. I still have the Hibbett Sports sales reciept.

haha, i already have the white cements and will be copping the 1999 breds soon. 08 breds are so wack with the jumpman, and im sure a bunch of scrubs will be rocking the jumpman 4s. easy pass imo.

Even though I’ll be purchasing this pack, I’m STILL gonna be after a pair of the ‘99 Retro IV’s.
The colorway alone on these are enough for me to want them. Of course, they won’t have “Nike Air” on them and of course there’s gonna be some differences (but not many) in the designing of these vs. the OG 89’s and Retro IV from 1999, but you all have to remember… it’s 2008!
As I’ve said on KATC and someone said here, they should’ve dropped the white/cement IV — too many fake B/Red’s out now with the “Nike Air” and Jumpman on the tabs.
But yes, imagine how many people you’d sh*t on when you rock your ‘99 IV’s, freshly kept and DS next to someone with these on. Reason I’ll still be after those!

We definitely need (if possible) an OG + Retro ‘99 + Re-Retro comparison.
Because I’m really not seeing much a difference in this shoe vs. the 99’s I see on eBay.
I mean, the red is more bright in the pics, but photos usually do make colors appear more vibrant.

These IVs look pretty hot but I can’t stand the Jumpman logo on the back. I’m definitely not feeling JB retroing all the old jordans with the cheesy jumpman logo to replace the Nike Air. Will definitely pickup these and probably sell the 19s which are the ugliest jordans ever!

new retros suck, they fit terrible. they fit on your foot like someone sat a stack of bucks on them, and there is a huge difference with the new wings…i wont be coppin these, na actually i might, the indoor by my house has em for $80

After all of the packages are released with the world of Retro J’s be gone forever? If so that will be one of the saddest days in shoe history. Without the retro J’s the Jordan brand puts out some suspect shoes. Just my opinion.

Ok, so I did my own little EXTENSIVE research on the designs (OG-Retro ‘99-Present)
I noticed the length and height of them, which I thought was the only other visual difference there could be, aside from the obvious (No “Nike Air”).
But there’s not much “different” with these than that above (that I could see). The air unit is longer, the tongue is longer, but that’s all due to length and height. Length of the Re-Retroed IV is longer than the ‘99 Retro and is cut lower than them as well.
Still, nonetheless; it’s still cop worthy.

good man JB is getting smarter i know you guys have seen me ripping JB a new one alot but i give respect to JB on these def buying i see they threw bootleggers off buy changing the wing piece from hard plastic by going with the rubber piece and changing the leather to the hard rubber same as they did with the new model spiz’ikes not only does this throw bootleggers off but the older plastic piece’s used to break sometimes and they used to flop around alot if you dont have them tied tight and that just looks sloppy who wants that to happen but now with the newer hard rubber pieces it takes alot for them to break unless your trying to break them also it has a nicer clean look very sleek ads on to the shoe kudos for JB this is what i like to see like they did a very good job with the re release on the carmine 6 i was impressed with them good painting good quality and etc..

My brother had both pair or the 1999 Retro IVs, this color and the white/cement and my dad destroyed both of them a few years later. I like the colorway and I dont mind the mesh made into the shoes but if Jordan Brand coulda stuck the Nike Air logo on the back of one pair or retro Jordans it shoulda been these because it will give this retro IV the classic look of the OG or the 1999 Retro of the IV to a slightly modified IV. I have seen fakes made like these but the quality of these looks waaaaayy better!

well! all i can say with this one is nice.BUT if you are a shoe fanatic..You can feel the difference! feel the original one(1999) and this one..(im talking about the sole and the rubber).if it’s only for casual use,buy this shoes but if you are going to wear them or play with it.i’d rather go with the original ones.

The 4’s look good wither they are like to og’s or not. The only difference I see is the jumpman in the back? The 19’s would be fine as long as they were the SE’s. Otherwise, the 19’s suck!
I wish they would do like a black and white pack or just two colorways for the 3&4(black,white),5(og white/red,Grape),6,9(black/red),10(white,carolina bule),11(white,space jams),12’s(black/red,black/white)!
