In Retrospect: Jordan Alpha-Omega, Air Force Ones

In Retrospect will be an ongoing column taking time to look back exactly 1 year past the launch date of Air Jordans, Air Force Ones, or any other major releases. Speak your mind about what you think about you think of the shoes one year past the release. It was exactly one year ago that the Jordan Alpha-Omega Pack released. This package was to celebrate the “beginning and the end” with the Alpha Jordan 1 and Omega Jordan 22 (even though the Jordan XX3 was set to come later). These weren’t the only products launched on June 2nd last year - 4 pairs of Air Force Ones were released from the NYC Pack. Did you buy these Air Jordans? Did you pass? Any regrets? Ironically the Omega Jordan XX2 is still available at Nike Store in plenty of sizes. |

and the Alpha 1’s but I recently sold those. never wore em.

Was not diggin the Omega 22’s. I copped the basketball print 22’s and the matching basketball. I had never seen that pattern on a shoe and a Jordan too..(had to do it!). I have never worn them tho. Got them both on display in my Jordan showcase. Any body have some REAL 20’s (size 11) for sale? I NEEEED THOSE

I did get the Alpha Ones. Im not made at the purchase. I wear them from time to time. Reminded me of when I was a kid and had the original Carolina blue ones. I liked the Supreme Ones but living in NC shoes like that are not accessible and then the $200 was kind of step considering all the ones that were dropping that year for the anniversary.

really wanted the two supreme mens forces but didnt have the cake at the time. wulda really loved to have the blacks. but the js were garbage. thers a reason ther still easy to get.

Not a fan of any–
The white Supreme forces are cool, but I wouldn’t break my neck to get em, I prefer solid color forces and would never wear a womens shoe

rosies whites are sick. never got them. too steep. got the alphas, wore em once. i like them but not my fav. very comfy tho. not a fan of the 22s no matter what color.

picked up 2 pairs of the alphas (1 to wear & 1 to put on ice - still haven’t worn either but recently picked up a shirt to match). also picked up a 1 pair of the omegas for the collection. i wish i would’ve waited on the omegas since i paid retail and now they’re hella cheap. not the best shoes to come out but i think they’re nice add for any collection.

I was surprised how everyone sat on the Alpha and Omega’s. Footlocker still has the Omega’s in their stores and I think they are regular price. I picked both up awhile ago.

I thought all of these were pretty lame considering the kinds of kicks I’ve seen prior to ‘08. back in the day I didn’t go more than 2 months w/o copping a pair of Js or Forces. but lately, I ain’t digging on ANYthing. hopefully something catches my eye

I passed on those AJ 1’s cause I still have da patent leather carolina blue retro 1’s. Will probably get da 22’s when da price drops a lil’ bit lower. People still chargin’ $130 for those jointz. Finishline.com had da black 22’s for $55 da otha day.

Both J’s were ugly from the first time I saw em on this site. I cringe when I see people rockin em. Thos white and blue 1’s are the best of this bunch the rest should have been a pass.

abelino which Olympics? the 6’s or the 7’s? they are both pretty bad. those 6’s are really ugly and the 7’s? i dont wanna get into it. the 7’s are the bugs bunny jordans and 1 of my favorites, they butchered it

I’m a little disappointed i passed. but i heard news about the 23 coming saying how revolutionary the shoe was going to be. so i waited and i am glad i did. espescially after getting the white and red xx3’s that came out on the 31st. i still think the 13’s are the best the the xx3’s run a close second. i’m also waiting on those six rings to come out.

I passed on all of them and to this day, Im glad I did! IM TIRED OF THE JORDAN 1’s being used as a sketch pad. Any idea, DUMB or smart they put it on the ONES, STOP ALREADY JB!!

the xx2’s were some of the most comfortable jordans i ever had.
great shoe. and last year was a big year for air force ones. now while i didn’t get those 3m joints in white or black,i have the vince carter af1’s and the amare af1’s. yup. i bought allot of af1’s last year. so far this year has been weak in comparison

If there’s gonna be some graphics on my kicks, I want it to be some dope ish. Was not feeling either of the J’s as collector items; which is all they’d be imo, not very cool looking for rocking out.
Plus, they are practically giving away XX2’s… It’s a nice shoe, but everyone was waiting for (and now buying) the XX3’s…
I bought the black and red low 1’s. Now THOSE are some FRESH kicks.

Got the white SPRM AF1s and I’m very happy with those. Always wanted the black model and finaly was lucky to put my hands on them last month for an incredible price, 30€ ($47) at a Nike Factory Store here, in France.
Also still got love for the wmns Premium AF1…
Passed on the Jordans because I don’t like the photo on the 1’s and just don’t like the model for the XXII.

Yeah I just got the white supremes too Matt. Was one of the pricier pairs I’d bought at the time and although my collection’s grown bigger and greater, still saving them for a special day.

i really wanted the 1s, until i saw samples with the picture. it breaks things up too much. and if you wear jeans with either of them, you can’t see the picture anyway. not enough black on the XX2 to balance the red, too.
it was a really great idea, but maybe would have made more sense with the I and the XX3????? not like they’d want to desecrate the XX3 like this.

I passed on all of them but the last women’s AF1 (grey/wh/azure) got alot of love …I saw them on Terrence J (106th & Park), Fat Joe, Fabolous and a bunch of other heads. They sold out pretty fast…
Those XXII J’s were on the bargain rack…

I grabbed the white Supreme Air Force Ones and am very satisfied with those. I personally was not a fan of the photo images of Jordan on the side of the shoes. Save that look for Machiavelli…
