Remembering the “Last Shot”
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Jun 14, 2008|
Ten years ago this day, June 14, 1998, one of the greatest moments in NBA history occurred. With his team down one point and the ball in the Jazz’s possession, Michael Jordan single-handedly took control of the final moments that lead one of the defining moments of his career. Swatting like a panther, Jordan snatched the ball from a posted Karl Malone and drove the ball down the court as the time was clicking away along with the chances of coming away with a win. From just atop the 3-point arc, a hard drive to his right with a quick cut back leaves a defending Bryon Russell stumbling and remembered as the final person defeated in a one on one with MJ as a Bull. With only one chance to fire, Jordan seized the opportunity as his jumpshot went through the basket with 5.2 seconds left on the clock in what would be in final game wearing black and red. For some of us, it seems like it was only yesterday that our eyes were peeled to the screen hearing Bob Costas and the NBC crew cover the epic moment in the history of Michael Jordan, the NBA, and the game of basketball. Ten years have passed from this unforgettable and memorable moment, but though the highlight reel has been seen numerous times, watching the legend never tires. This day we dedicate to you Mr. Jordan for everything you have brought to sport fans, sneakerheads, and those who appreciate the will and determination to accomplish the unthinkable. Thank you Mike for the memories past, present, and future. |

Jun 14, 2008 at 9:03 am
I can’t explain what I feel
Jun 14, 2008 at 9:06 am
I just got chills watching this… I remember so many amazing things Jordan did. At least I got to witness the greatest bball player ever when I was a kid. I miss watching him play.
Jun 14, 2008 at 9:27 am
Funny you included all the other details of the play but left out how Jordan pushed Russell in is back to get that shot off. Revisionist history…
Jun 14, 2008 at 9:30 am
i was 3 bout to be turnin 4 when this game happened
Jun 14, 2008 at 9:34 am
WOW…..jordan.
Jun 14, 2008 at 9:38 am

Jun 14, 2008 at 9:41 am
I wonder how byron russells ankles felt?……jordan=G.O.A.T.
Jun 14, 2008 at 9:48 am
Simply the best. There will NEVER BE ANOTHER.Simple as that.
Jun 14, 2008 at 9:54 am
& 4 hommie saying MJ pushed off 2 get that shot he probanly never touched a rock N his life. There was no push off.Mj was just getting his balance.A touch is not a push.Dont hate on the G.O.A.T
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:17 am
brought a tear to my eye..I remember my mom telling me to come watch the rest of the game, I thought it was over and I walk back and see that exact moment on the TV..I was 8 at the time and I still remember it clear as day..
G.O.A.T.
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:23 am
I remember this the most cuz he was wearin tha fourteens a gift that i got for my birthday which was that day!!
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:33 am
Damn, we got some young bloods around here. I’ll be 28 on the 1st of July, was 17 (going on 18) when goat hit that shot. I bleed green, Jordan is the only non-Celtics player I’ve ever rooted for. He was the greatest. Only thing I hated about that shot against the Jazz was Bob Costas ruining the moment with his over-consumption of oxygen. Always hated that dude. He never STFU! Mike Breen is like Costas incarnate…
Anyways, go Celtics! And thanks for the memories Michael.
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:37 am
The King !!! Michael “Air” Jordan
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:48 am
DOPE!!!!
WHY COULDENT KOBE DO SOME IISH LIKE THAT AGAINST BOSTON GAME 4? ..LOL..
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:51 am
LAKERS.. ALL THE WAY…
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:55 am
I AGREEEEE.. MJ. THE ILLEST!
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:57 am
MJ is the greatest of all time. never lost a championship
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:00 am
that was a really nice tribute mark. nice job.
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:03 am
Sorry to break it to you Baker, Mike’s middle name is Jeffery, not Jesus. He aint perfect. Thats an offensive foul. If you were to switch the roles, and Russell was driving on Jordan, that woulda been an offensive foul. I’m not hating, just stating the facts
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:04 am
i got goosebumps
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:05 am
I remember this the most cuz he was wearin tha fourteens a gift that i got for my birthday which was that day!!
Comment by Scott Baron — June 14, 2008 @ 10:23 am
Are you sure about that??… The last shots didn’t drop until several months after this game…they were also the second colorway in the fourteens.
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:08 am
Anyone who says that they had the Jordan 14’s during this game is mistaken or straight up lying. The first colorway of the Jordan 14s didn’t release until Oct 1998 and the last shots came the following Spring.
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:23 am
PLEASE LETS NOT COMPARE KOBE TO MJ…NO ONE ELSE WILL EVER COME CLOSE ON HOW MJ PLAYED THE GAME…HES SIMPLY THE GREATEST! KOBE IS JUZ SOME DOUCHE WANNABE…
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:30 am
I remember this shot like it was yesterday.
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:48 am
thats tha only reason i got tha 9/14 pack just 2 remember that
Jun 14, 2008 at 12:00 pm
How can i forget this shot? Mike was a machine. He was built for the last shot. He didn’y only keep the jazz from winning, He kept my Knicks from winning far too many times, because of that, I hated the bulls. but Jordan didn’t count though. lol.
The 14s are a great shoe, I dont know why people sleep on the 14’s. If you went on ebay when the 14/9 package came out, you’d see a bunch of 14’s being sold for like 130 or so. Its insulting to me. I paid 175 when they were released in December 05. now everyone is sleeping on them.
Jun 14, 2008 at 12:03 pm
This was the best game i’ve ever witnessed “MIKE IS THE BEST”
Jun 14, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Its Crazy how he can pull off that push and not get called for it…only MJ can do it
Jun 14, 2008 at 1:03 pm
WORD!!
Jun 14, 2008 at 1:11 pm
For the last time, this is one of the stupidest debates ever.. If MJ was to push BR, I think he would’ve stumbled with his upper body going forward. In this case, his feet slid as if he was doing suicides after tounching the line! OFFENSIVE FOUL!? Yeaa right!
Jun 14, 2008 at 1:28 pm
ok let me start out buy saying that mike jordan is will be and was the best baskett ball player alive, on another note he is the best thing that has happened to me in the last ten years of my life when i was 12 i started watching mike on tv the best moments of my life was watching mike take the ball run down and bangone from the free throw line. Watching his mix tapes and just rockin an old pair of jordan 14’s the last shot makes me hypei. Seccond of the push was just a goood cross it was not the kind of thing that ou should get called for.!!!!!! JORDAN IS A PIMP
Jun 14, 2008 at 2:01 pm
this was just on espn classic now thats whats up
Jun 14, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Thats correct comments 27 & 28 knows. That dude Comment 17 Scott Baron is Str8 Lying! Them 14’s didn’t release till least a month or so after that game. Jordan playoff or Finals Editions was exclusive to him ONLY before ANYONE! NBA INCLUDED MUCH LESS the General Public was able to get their hands on them and much like they still do now with some of the Jordan or Nike exclusive players editions or finals editions you don’t get them during till after it’s all over. As for that game you can’t go out much better than that. Others will be compared some will have crazy game but none can NEVA truly carry that name there can and will be ONLY 1 Micheal Jordan.
Jun 14, 2008 at 2:45 pm
I was eight when this happend…. wow the good ol days
Jun 14, 2008 at 2:45 pm
I was eight when this happend…. wow the good ol days… and i had those then and have those same kicks now
Jun 14, 2008 at 2:45 pm
that HONESTLY send chills up my spine watching the shot unedited, exactly how it went down 10 years ago (not the video matt posted). greatest athlete there ever was, is, and ever will be.
Jun 14, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Something people also forget is that Jordan played this game without Scottie as he went out with an injury on the first play.
One of the greatest moments in sports history ever.
Jun 14, 2008 at 3:07 pm
I know a lot of individuals who posted were probally single digit ages when this “shot” happened but it was a push. Stevie Wonder could have seen that. Jordan was the greatest shooting guard ever! However, this shot was overrated. If a player with a poor reputation pulled this off, the whistle would still be ringing.

Jun 14, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Ok mr Smith 4 the record if the shoe was on the other foot it wouldnt of been cause were talking Russle & Mj.I agree with Brisk21 check his comments.i couldnt of stated the facts any better.U sound like a Knick Fan after Charles Smith didnt get fouled
Jun 14, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Michael Jordan was the best and will always be the best. Kobe aint even on the same level. Looks like Pierce is betta than Kobe. lol. Jordan=G.O.A.T yall remember that. i was 8 when Jordan made that shot and i have been a Jordan fan ever since i knew what basketball was. STOP HATING ON THE GREATEST MJ…..
Jun 14, 2008 at 4:39 pm
Thank you for posting this tribute. We often overlook at just how good Michael really was. We may not even begin to understand or fathom the amount of greatness Michael held and just how influential he really is. Simply put, he is the G.O.A.T.
Jun 14, 2008 at 4:46 pm
When I look at this moment, I feel sorry for John Stockton.
He’s the only dude of the arena who have missed that shoot to guard Steve Kerr…
Some people are meant to make history… Some are meant to just miss it.
Jun 14, 2008 at 5:28 pm
I got tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting that NICEKICKS. I loved Michael every since I was three. That is why every Michael Jordan shoe I put on, it doesn’t matter if its a retro, team, or other none fake Jordan, I will always wear them with pride. Alot of people in the world are just retroheads and are always complaining about the shoes that Jordan Brand comes out with. If I see a Jordan that I like, I’m going to get it. Stop complaining about the shoes that they come out with and start appreciating Jordan Brand for all these years. I will wear a fusion, retro, spizike, dubzero, 6 ring, and other Jordan shoes. It doesn’t matter to Me! NICEKICKS if you could, post this all over the internet. I’m tired of people talking down on Jordan Brand. Its not like JB cares what people say, because they don’t! It’ll just might help some.
Jun 14, 2008 at 5:29 pm
Brisk21……..you really don’t know much about physics, do you? That was CLEARLY a push. The hand was on BR right butt cheek and you can clearly see extra momentum than just a “slide side step”. No doubt about it. Even MJ has not denied it. Yes, b/c it was MJ, the refs did not call it. Aside from physics, do you know anything about business tactics? Yes, even the NBA is a business and they want certain teams to win. This is why we have this referee scandal now since this issue has been made aware to the public. Still, that was a risky, but great steal to get the ball from Karl Malone. I remember watching that whole play develop back in the day, but in 1998 MJ’s “roaming” would have been a defensive 3 second violation…..still they probably would not have called that with less than a minute to play. Here is a video with more highlights of that game. Enjoy
http://youtube.com/watch?v=VUwDIn7TL_Y
Jun 14, 2008 at 5:29 pm
he actually scored before the play, they were down by 3 points jordan took the inbound pass and drove in through the entire defense cutting the lead to one..the rest is history
Jun 14, 2008 at 5:50 pm
ooo wow. dats amazin. even more reason 2 get those sneaksz
Jun 14, 2008 at 6:04 pm
That was a great shot one of the best, But Jordan did push him out the way. I know ya’ll saw that right. I might be wrong though but it looked like that to me.
Jun 14, 2008 at 6:09 pm
I remember I had the Dennis Rodman Converse shoes since my parents couldn’t afford me the Pippens or the Jordans lol!
Jun 14, 2008 at 6:36 pm
Breathe taking. this is why i collect jordans. my kids will never get to see him play. but atleast they will have the shoes that i can pass down to them.
Jun 14, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Dat waz very magnificent but I can do dat anytime! Just come see me at any court and I’ll prove it.
Plus why didn’t da ref make da call wen MJ pushed dat one defender?
Jun 14, 2008 at 7:00 pm
Naw he didn’t push him, Russle just got crossed up out of his shoes! He was still trying to get up after Jordan released the shot! It feels so good to relive that moment.
Jun 14, 2008 at 7:07 pm
yah that was the shot that did it make made him one of the greatest players of all time!!!! G.O.A.T.
Jun 14, 2008 at 7:37 pm
I just pulled out the DVD collection and watched the game start to finish again. Michael Jordan’s performance was unbelievable. Though he had not the best shooting percentage, he made the baskets when they were needed. He made the defensive stops to crippled Jazz momentum. He inspired his team to give everything they had just as he did any given night.
Though I was a huge Jordan fan, I never had Jordans growing up. A combination of my parents not forking out dough for sneakers complimented with my “I don’t care” attitude towards style when I was younger, Air Jordans were never important to me until this time.
My first pair of Jordans were the Last Shot Jordan XIVs. Even at a half size too big, I didn’t care - I was going to have them.
After watching this game, I thought about Jordan Brand’s message in the Jordan XX3 commercial: “It’s not about the shoes, it’s about what you do in them.” That message couldn’t ring more true than with the Last Shot Jordan 14s. Yes, the shoes were hot, but it was MJ’s performance in those shoes that made them as awesome as they are to me.
Once again Mike, thank you for the memories of greatness but more so the lessons you have taught me through your game.
Jun 14, 2008 at 7:37 pm
I remember where I was the day MJ made that shot, and a bittersweet moment, great to see him win his 6th NBA title, but sad to see him walk away from the NBA a second time…!
MJ was the man…!
Jun 14, 2008 at 7:55 pm
Jordan playoff or Finals Editions was exclusive to him ONLY before ANYONE! NBA INCLUDED MUCH LESS the General Public was able to get their hands…
This is not true as I distinctly remember Jerome Kersey of all people wearing the black Vs in the 1990 NBA finals vs. the Pistons. It was the 1st time I ever saw another player wearing Jordans besides Jordan. For you yungins under 28 The Bulls lost to the Pistons in the Eastern Conference finals. If you doubt it go get a Sports Illustrated from back in the day, or something of that sort.
Jun 14, 2008 at 8:13 pm
I was 9 when history was made. I saw it live back then and still watch the game to this day.Bittersweet cause I want my hometown chicago to win and like it said last shot for MJ, one of the best ever to do it. Wow, I feel so old right now. I am shock that the chicago sports stations didn’t mention it. Greatness…………………………..simply put.
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Good push off and decent shot, hes made better and more important shots in his day
Jun 14, 2008 at 10:25 pm
people stop cryin…you act like mike put his hands in bryan russells chest and flung him across the court, it was a slight hook,,thats never gonna get called at the end of a game, i dont care who you are…derek fisher jumping on brent barrys head..not gonna get called at the end of the game. The 6 time world champion Chicago Bulss dominated the 90s,,they won the series 4-2. im pretty sure if mike wouldnt of “pushed” him..he would have figured out another way to beat them like he did all his peers
and the cubs are gonna win the world series this year

Comment by zb — June 14, 2008 @ 10:17 pm
please tell me what shot is more important than a jumper that just won the nba finals? it was also his last game as a bull.
im waiting because i’d love to hear it, or read it, whatever
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:14 pm
i remember this shot like it was yesterday, bein 10 years old at the time.
truly amazin, this has to be the BEST moment of MJ’s epic career
Jun 14, 2008 at 11:28 pm
I still remember this game like it happened yesterday, amazing.
that last play, man, push off or no push,
that killer cross, arhh, how sick was that, his knee scrapping the hardwood, breaking free from Russel, that raise up, the release, the perfect shooting form, ahh, sick.
for the record, I Was 15 back then, still at high school, still couldn’t afford my first pair of J’s…
Jun 15, 2008 at 12:46 am
OMG!!!!
Speechless!!!!
Jun 15, 2008 at 2:01 am
Oh man I remember watching this live and going crazy the whole game…no diss to the league today but the playoff and finals aren’t just the same…I mean I like to watch the games but the vibe just ins’t the same…I miss the NBA on NBC…lol ahh the good ol 90’s when life was so much simpler…lmao…
Also to comment on kicks too…I remember coppin my first pair of J’s…they were the black/grey 7’s…I saved money from anywhere I could get it for what seemed like forever…becuase my mom wasn’t about to drop $100 on some shoes…she got the game but didn’t have the cash for them…so after I had my money went to the outlet mall in San Marcos…and there they were the freshest pair of shoes I EVER copped…lol I couldn’t wait to get to school to show them off…
Thanks to MJ for changing the game. And by game I mean everything from kicks to the league.
Jun 15, 2008 at 7:42 am
this is probably the single most memorable shot in NBA history. never have i seen a play replayed more or talked about more than this one. and of course the cynics are going to say that Jordan pushed off, (i was one of them) but he barely gave dude a love tap. a push would have had Russel stumbling and falling over, not sliding across the court the way he did. plus, he did not extend his arm when he touched him, thus…no push. now i’m a lot older that most of u cats on this site and i was able to witness Jordan’s entire career….not just a highlight or 2 on youtube and espn classic and i’ll admit i was never a huge fan. mostly because he simply murdered everyone he faced and the whole world was on his nuts. i was more of a pippen fan and that’s who i tried to play like when i balled. however, even i will admit, the game has never been the same since Jordan left. i can barely stand to watch NBA basketball today because here we are 10 years after this shot and everyone is still talking about the next Jordan this and the next Jordan that. he’s gone people!!! let the man rest already and move on. i wasn’t able to watch this game because i was in the hospital with my newborn son that very same day and he had the last shot 14’s…but not on that day, cuz they had not been released yet. lol. the way some of you make up stories (like you had these same kicks on that exact day) to relate to an athlete is funny and actually kinda sad. just remember…it’s ok to appreciate what an athlete does and to relate, but it’s also ok to be honest and be your own person without using your Michael Jordan knowledge as a badge of your coolness. live life people…
Jun 15, 2008 at 8:04 am
good ole days
Jun 15, 2008 at 9:04 am
If cats think this is the most memorable shot in NBA History, I would invite cats to review some game footage past the 90s. Yeah, they played basketball before 1998. Sheesh, Ever hear a a sick point guard from NY named Earl Monroe? How about a guy I know none of you saw play named Magic Johnson? Nike told you this was the greatest shot ever and you believed it. This is the greatest shot in “NIKE” history not NBA history. Dudes has shoe deals that averaged triple doubles. How many pairs do you have of them? I’m not trippin on MJ as he won at least 2 championships with sub par teams. MJ’s will was made of cast iron. The man was great but damn, pick up a book baby and increase you knowledge. I say Oscar Robinson to a dude under 19 and he thinks I’m making a reference to Sesame Street. I beg of thee, get your Bobitto Garcia up. Now, who wants deadstock 9s in french blue and zen gray?
Jun 15, 2008 at 9:20 am
If you must sweat a pair of Jordans, how about the 13s from game 5 in 97. Now that was a performance.
Jun 15, 2008 at 9:41 am
Fixed series. Jordan=G.O.A.T., but still fixed. Not the push, either. Six points, three should’ve counted, three that shouldn’t have. (Eisley and Harper, respectively). J and the Bulls probably would’ve won the series even if the game was called correct, but David Stern’s goons with whistles didn’t help matters. They never do.
Jun 15, 2008 at 11:56 am
damn dat video gave me da chills….real talk….MJ = G.O.A.T
Jun 15, 2008 at 12:20 pm
THAT WAS THE SHOT HEARD AROUND THE WORLD…..JORDAN+14=TRUE HISTORY!
Jun 15, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Comment 59 Before the team jordan started ie: Eddie Jones, Vin Baker, Micheal Finley and a few others long before the 2nd gen of players now on team jordan YOU COULD NOT WEAR MIKE JORDANS IN THE NBA WITHOUT HIS PERMISSON HE SAID DIDN’T WANT UNDERACHIVEING PLAYERS WEARING HIS SNEAKS! THEN HE HAND SELECTED THE PLAYERS HE WANTED TO WEAR THE TEAM JORDAN BRAND AT THAT TIME THEY DIDN’T MAKE PLAYOFF EXCLUSIVE WITHOUT THE PLAYER THEY WERE MADE FOR BEING THE ONE TO BE FIRST TO WEAR THEM JEROME KERSEY MIGHT HAD A COLORWAY THEY ALREADY HAD OUT BUT THEY DON’T MAKE SHOES FOR JORDAN LET JEROME KERSEY DEBUT THEM WITHOUT JORDAN HAVING THEM FIRST BET HE DID’NT HAVE THOSE RED&BLACK 14’s before that finals.
Jun 15, 2008 at 1:18 pm
no the greatest!!!!! not one of
Jun 15, 2008 at 1:51 pm
bkbigjay….i like that…it was a good push off..he still had to hit the shot. so im totally with you
Jun 15, 2008 at 4:21 pm
I remember watching this game saying jordan has to take the last shot i was about 14years old, that was the sweetest shot i’ve ever seen
Jun 15, 2008 at 4:22 pm
nice shot
Jun 15, 2008 at 4:59 pm

Ron Harper’s shot was a 2 pointer actually so that would be a 5 point swing. But if we are going to get nit picky about every single call this topic will never end. What about Rodman being called for a charge without being able to establish position. You can’t get called for a charge if you catch a ball mid-air and land hitting the guy!
All in all, there were some missed calls, but guess what, that’s basketball and more-so that’s life. The difference between winners and losers is some are looking forward to the next play while others whine, b!tch, and moan about whistles a decade later.
If any one thinks that Jordan’s legacy and rings came from David Stern “fixing” the Playoffs, you probably think TuPac and Biggie are chilling out with Elvis on a deserted island.
The point of this piece was to remember the decade since a historic moment in NBA history. If you need a soapbox to stand on and rant about David Stern and missed calls, find somewhere else to do it please.
Jun 15, 2008 at 5:50 pm
He totally pushed Byron Russell. He is the greatest but her pushed him. Who cares though? Does anyone hold it against him. The ref let it go cause it WAS Jordan. The shoes are sick, why do we have to bring up a push.
Jun 15, 2008 at 6:15 pm
If anyone is interested from the Austin Tx area. I found the 17/6 countdown in a 9.5 at the Barton Creek Square Mall. I didnt have the money to buy it but i saw it sitting there at champs. Just though I would spread the word.
Jun 15, 2008 at 6:17 pm
By the way, calls are missed everyday in basketball. If every foul was called every player would be fouled out and there goes the game. Jordan is the greatest ever. No if, ands, or buts!
Jun 15, 2008 at 10:01 pm
Mike was Ill
Jun 16, 2008 at 1:02 am
I still think its a shame that Brand Jordan didn’t release the “Last Shots” for the year of Jordan 2008. What does he release on the date he played for the Bulls for the last time? The best of both worlds Fusion V’s red white and blue (don’t tell me he released the white and red cause they were no where to be found)
He should have released the 14 + 9 pack today… or a special 14 or something.
Well, anyway, glad Nicekicks.com put this up.
Jun 16, 2008 at 1:31 am
PhilWil the last shots came out December 05. i remember it like its yesterday. its WAYY to soon to release the last shots again.
you wont see those released for another 5 years at best
Jun 16, 2008 at 1:37 am
AJ 14’s, damn i was just 12.. now i’ve got to own my own pair.. top 10 in the collectibles. Keep on Keepin On AJ!
Jun 16, 2008 at 2:21 am
I was 8 years old, never had a pair of jordans, loved how he played, 10 years later I have 20+ pairs of jordans, and im 18.
Jun 16, 2008 at 7:01 am
BR got owned on this play and will forever be posterized! MJ was the greatest plain and simple…Kobe being compared to MJ is plain blasphemy! Comparing him to Pippen = maybe?, MJ = Hell Naw!
Jun 16, 2008 at 9:19 am
I recorded this game when it was live and I’ve watched it EVERY June 14 ever since. I remember watching it with my brother, HE thought it was over when Stockton hit that 3 with 41.9 seconds left, I knew MJ would come through no doubt in my mind, and he did. Everyone watching and everyone in the building knew who was going to take the shot, come on even the Bulls spread the floor, everyone was behind the 3 point line. There was no doubt who was taking the shot and they STILL COULDN’T stop him, simply amazing and unbelieveable. And for those that say it was a push, if you notice, AT THE END OF THE GAME MJ was just driving hard to the basket every time he got the ball, he was looking to get fouled every time down the floor so he could go to the line = easy buckets. Since he kept driving to the hole at the end, Bryon Russell thought he was gonna drive again on that possession, that’s why Russell slipped not because of a push. I mean yea MJ had his hand on him but he didnt extend it when they seperated, that’s the only time they’ll call an offensive foul. Either way, all he did was make the Jazz think he was gonna drive again. Some of you say push, I say good fake. He made them think something, and did the total opposite. Thanks MJ for all the memories.

nikeindabutt kobe is nothing like pippen at all. that is disrespect right there. actually, kobe is the only guy anyone could think of being like jordan. pippen? LMAO. pippen was one of the 3 best small forwards ever. long arms, lock down defense on par with jordans,. great rebounder. point forward.. insane passing skills. pass first.imagine ron artest with andrei kerilinko with better scoring than both, but less blocks but making plays. if bird wasn’t around scottie might be ranked higher. but he was a better defender. like chuck said, ”as long as larry bird is around, im not the worst defender on earth”. or something like that

you shoulda known this forum would bring debate, ya big dummy. don’t open it for posting if you can’t take the good with the bad. plus, nobody here brought their own soapbox, you left it sitting there. back to the point, i think we can all agree that the J14’s are all sizzle.

again solesaved, Jerome Kersey rocked the fives in the 1990 NBA Finals. I already know about the Team Jordan wikipedia notes you posted. I was a jr. in undergrad when Team Jordan was put together with a poster display from the sneaker store display I workered while in college to remind me. Perhaps Kersey went down to the footlocker stood online and bought a pair like the rest of the “Jay” fans. Good use of caps also. Faulkner would be proud.

J King I guess you’re the only one old enough at the present time to know anything about jordans. The whole point of my comments was about the kid who said he had the RED&BLACK “14’s” at the time jordan or at the same time jordan was wearing them in the finals they were NOT RELEASED to the general public yet now since you know so much about who wikipedia comments because that from someone who uses it themselves but everybody doesn’t know all things about jordan like you because you’re the ONLY one OLD ENOUGH AND SMART ENOUGH BECAUSE YOU’RE THE KING J before you comment on someone else’s commentS you should really READ THEM FIRST i didn’t say anything about the Fives or if Jerome Kersey wore them or not the 14’s is a few sneaks down from the FIVES’s i never mentioned anything about Jerome Kersey or the “Five’s and if you know so much about were my wikipedia comments came from only means you wikipedia and one more thing i’m not cool enough or hip enough or i guess OLD enough to care or give a sh*t who FAULKNER is
Jun 16, 2008 at 9:32 pm
J King Since you college educated and “workered” in the shoe store at the time with all your posters then you should know or wikipedia when the “14’s” was released because that was what the purpose of the comments was about but you so educated and with all your knowledge and you talkin about FAULKNER.
Jun 16, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Easily fellas, its just J’s. I think MJ would rather us all be happy than spur.
On another note, I received probably 15 emails over the weekend requesting a wallpaper of the photo that I posted. For those not familiar with Photoshop I just made everything except MJ and the ball greyscale.
I will post the wallpaper tomorrow morn or early PM.

best moment in sports

This is by far the best shot ever taken in NBA history, no one will compare to him. There is no “2008 Jordan”. My collegues believe Kobe is todays jordan.. siiiiiiikeee

Everyone’s STILL saying “it’s a push,” even 10 years later. LET IT GO! lol
Sure, MJ took his hand and placed it on Byron Russell’s rear, and cleared him out a bit, but to say he PUSHED him, when Russell’s momentum was carrying him that direction ANYWAY, is crazy.
It wasn’t a blatent, “get out of my way” push, but an instinctive thing, much like if you were to go up for a dunk, with an opponent going up with you and you extend your elbow a bit, to clear some space.
“No harm, no foul” is as cliche as you can get here and there was NO HARM, nor a FOUL on that play.
6 Championships, 2 3-peats, in 8 seasons…
Chicago Bulls, 1998 NBA Champions!

One of sports greatest plays by one of sports greatest players… Simply legendary… While this was when the NBA was at its prime and worth watching we will soon begin to have moments for our generation with the upcoming Celtics and Lakers rivalry, King James and CP3 on the hunt for the respect by winning a championship… The NBA is finally making a comeback!!

Mike was definitely the greatest player to ever play the game. The game took a huge hit after his absence but it seems to be coming around! It was good to see Paul P. win a ring he was working super hard and never layed down.
