Nike Zoom Flight 96

Nike Zoom Flight 96 Grey

The US Olympic squad was just announced earlier this week which reminded us of the gool ol’ days when Team USA was guaranteed Gold. In the 1996 Games Team USA had some amazing talent, but also some great kicks even though MJ took the summer off. Young talent Penny Hardaway had plenty of his own signature shoes to wear but instead laced up in the Zoom Flight 96 in Atlanta.

An original colorway of the Zoom Flight 96 was just knocked down in price to $69.99 which is a substantial 40% off of the sticker price. It seems like everyday there are deals on great kicks thanks to the market getting flooded. Get all the details on these at Daily Drop.

Matt–Thats very true (smaller swoosh on side) and I’ve never really thought of that! (been clouded by Jordan Brand I have)

I had the color penny wore and they were ok….. I like them but they tore easily. Mybe because i was like 10 or 11 when they came out lol. bring back good memories though

What’s funny about them being on sale now is that back in the dy when they originally came out that they ended up one sale rack. Not saying that they shouldn’t have retro’ed these but I guess its not for everybody.

I had these back in the day. The only way I could get them was because they were on sale (couldn’t afford the original price back then). They were great and very comfortable. didn’t play ball in them, but they were cool. Best colorway was these in my opinion, but I was hoping that when they got retro’ed that they would come out with some really interesting colorways

  6. Flatsole

I always loved this shoe in the black colorway

    Biggins,

That was the reason I have always loved them haha. I have found, as a rule of thumb, the best looking Nike shoes have the smallest Nike swooshes on the side. Whenever they make the swoosh a major part of the design of the shoe (unless its an older shoe) the shoe doesnt come out well

I always liked the look of these, but I didn’t want to buy them for some reason. Weird.

  14. Biggins

I remember these very well, and I’m glad they re-released for sneakerheads…

Honestly, I never really fell in love with these kicks because they remeinded me too much of the Air Max 95 design (w/ dark on the bottom & lighter coloring up), which is strange, I know. They also had some heavy competition that year.

  15. YouKnow

its funny, i would never look twice at some of these shoes until you learn the history, than they seem more interesting to me.

  16. TheTRUTH

they’re sick, I remember when I had them in 7th grade. $69, can’t beat it.

  17. TASJ7045

I had the colorway that Penny wore in the Olympics back in the day and I returned them twice because the black outside seperated from the blue outsole. I remember that the shoe had terrible traction when I played indoor ball in them. Anyone else had these troubles now or back in the day?
