WTAPS x Vans Syndicate Bash
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Jun 11, 2008 Most collabs entitle a brand or shop to splash some obscure colors together on a shoe, but when WTaps and Vans sat down for the next part of the Vans Syndicate series an entirely new model came as a result. The two created the Bash - the first two letters from the words “basketball shoe”. Before you cool kids start writing this shoe off as a Jordan 3 bite, consider this bit of history.
The WTAPS x Vans Syndicate Bash pays homage to the days of skating in basketball shoes. Boarders had a very limited selection of sneakers to choose from in the late 80’s with only a few brands pumping out sneakers fit for the grip tape and none of them with a mid top cut. While the Jordan 3 was quickly adopted by ballers for its revolutionary mid top cut, skateboarders quickly took notice as well. The shoes come in three colors and feature aestetic interests such as a vented toe box, leather perforations, and a quilted side panel. These are set to release this weekend in Tokyo with no word yet about a US release unfortunately. Pics from WTAPS via Hypebeast. |

Nice but not for me My sonn is a skater who loves to play B-ball so i’m sure he would want these…

^ I’m assuming “White Boy Shoes” refers to the vulcanized sole.
It is nice to see some Vans with a cup sole that isn’t a really modern skate shoe. With Vans it has usually been one or the other with a classic look or a cup sole.

I actually like that shoe alot. Its got that dunkish strap. I dont usually like that, but it looks good there. Kinda brings together the top and bottom halves of the shoe. Black and blue pair has nice placement. If the price isnt crazy on these I might get em. If it is… I got better things to cop.
