Adidas Originals 2009 Torsion Preview

Adidas Originals Torsion Series

Adidas is celebrating the ZX series this year in a three release aZX Project that gives 24 of the top shops, artists, and tastemakers to interpret timeless ZX silhouettes how they see fit. The latter part of ZX series, namely the ZX 7000, 8000, and 9000, were some of the first Adidas Running shoes to feature the Torsion System. The Torsion System provides midfoot support that allows the forefoot and heel to move independently for better surface adaptation and stability. Torsion is also lightweight and allows designers to remove extra rubber from the sole in the middle of the shoe cutting down even more on the weight of the sneaker.

Starting in January, Adidas will bring back some of the early shoes that used the Torsion system. On the running side Adidas brings us the ZX 7000, ZX 8000, ZX 9000, and Torsion Racer. Adidas also is bringing back the first Torsion basketball shoe, Adidas Torsion Bank Shot, and a high top for the ladies, the Adidas Torsion Sleek.

This lineup of shoes is expected to arrive at Overkill in early January of 2009.

    Hey Stoj23,

I think the shoes your talking about are the adidas Artillery. Look similar to the bankshot - they came out in black (in 1990) and white stripes - awesome. They came out in white too.. One of my faves of all time. (Lucky enough to have picked up a pair recently). Hope this helps.

I love how so many ppl are just starting to get onto the later model ZX’s. For years I could scoop those up easily for low prices, but not anymore :-(

The ZX 8000/9000 are hands down my two fav adidas running sneakers of all time.

Man I love the ZX8000…the recent releases seem to carry some really heavy price tags though…much more than I remember them being in the past.

    These are niiiiiice!

I had the high top basketball torsion kicks, back in 1990, and I was wondering if anyone knew the name of them.

They were not the bank shots, they looked a bit better than the bank shots.
