Jeff Staple x New Balance 575 “Pigeon”
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Aug 1, 2008|
There is no more memorable release than the Pigeon Dunk. From the campouts to the crowds to the violence that surrounded the release, this shoe was never going to be forgotten. The Pigeon theme was the thought of Staple Design’s founder Jeff Ng, better known as Jeff Staple. Though it has been 3 years since the release of the shoes, one can’t deny its impact it has had on the market. A few months ago we posted a digital sketch of the shoe but very little has followed until now. We now have confirmation that the shoe will be something that will reach the market in the future limited to 800 pairs. Sneaker Freaker caught up with Jeff Staple for an interview about his work and the new Pigeon New Balance 575. The full interview will be available in the new issue of Sneaker Freaker that releases August 13th, but for a little taste click here for a little preview. |

Boogie,
I have been trying to find a pair of sz 11 Pigeons for ages that won’t cost me a mortgage payment. Sometimes I wish I was young and had no responsibilities again….

As Rick Flair would say Woooooooooooooooooo!
Aug 2, 2008 at 2:55 pm
I feel like Sporty Thieves: “No Pigeons” as these will be hard to cop in the queen city, NC.

I’m trying to use my New Balance connection to get these. I’ve only seen one other pair of New Balance I liked just as much those Provider X New Balance that I missed out on. I’m hopeful that I am able to get these.

And yeah, I know, the designer of the pigeons from Nike designed these. I still dont think NB should be doing the exact same thing as Nike, better or not.
Aug 1, 2008 at 8:53 pm
What I don’t like is NB so obviously using other brand’s ideas. What I do like is that these are way nicer than the pigeon sbs.
Aug 1, 2008 at 8:19 pm
everytime i see tha pigeon dunks i think of tha Stillmaic cover..
it like the exact same colors and theres a pigeon on tha corner of tha cover too..
Aug 1, 2008 at 7:34 pm
