Air Jordan 1 Hi Doernbecher Freestyle “Mr.Boober”
Posted by vulkan | Sep 21, 2008 Doernbecher Children’s Hospital has been working with Nike every year to help raise money to fund research and basic operations. Every year as you all know five shoes from the Doernbacher series drop and the money from those sales are contributed to the hospital. These were designed by Tony Taylor Jr., nicknamed Mr. Boober, who battled Nephrotic Syndrome and underwent a successful kidney transplant at the hospital.
Jayson Mayden and Estelle Maranan guided Tony with his vision of the project and the inspirations took inspiration from the very experiences of his life. These are the second Air Jordans to be part of the Doernbecher Freestyle project. Last year we saw the Doernbecher Air Jordan 2. This shoe will release November 14th along with four other Doernbecher children designed shoes. Thanks to SoleCollector for the pictures and story. |

How ironic. nike helps children in need in America but will enslave the ones in Asia. I’m one to talk, I’ve been wearing nike’s since 4th grade. Anyway it’s a good cause and I’m sure they’ll sell out just like the Doernbecher II’s. Personally, I think that JB is REALLY milking the I’s but whatever. If these were dunks, they’d be hot. These kinds of crazy colorways don’t look good on Jordan I’s though.

From the looks of it, these will likely be auctioned for charity, which means they’ll probably end up going for $1000-$3000+
These are the best looking AJ1’s that I’ve seen in a while tho.. they easily trump both the recent Olympic 1’s and the Countdown Pack Hi Tops.
