New Balance 576 “Metallics”
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Sep 3, 2008|
Many companies shelled out millions to have metallic gold sneakers on the feet of the world’s best athletes last month, but New Balance decided to instead put that money into their products. This year is the 20th Anniversary of the New Balance 576 and while your grandparents probably celebrated it with a new China set, the jewelry industry has re-written traditions for the 20th to be the “platinum anniversary.” That may explain things for one colorway of the metallic 576’s, but you can’t go wrong with metallic gold either. Both are $124 at Zappos. Info from Daily Drop. |

The gold/silver treatment just seems a bit WRONG for NB…the beauty of these shoes is in the classic look and simplicity…
These shoes remind me of a 50 year old woman in a 20-something club wearing a miniskirt…even if it fits there’s just something ‘Not Right’ about it…

^^^ agreed! Gold/Silver kicks were cool when you saw that color scheme rarely…no every sneaker, dress shoe & house slipper coming out is gold/silver.
