Air Jordan True Flight “Court Blue” Closer Look

We’ve slowly seen the ankle height on a lot of releases steadily climb over the last 12 months or so. The Air Jordan True Flight “Court Blue” is the continuation of that trend, and the trend of Jordan Brand taking classics styles and meshing them with new twists. An approach that makes for some pretty adamant opinions on both sides.
The True Flight shares a sole and silhouette of the Jordan VII, along with a similar colorway to the popular 2002 retro “French’s”. Packing a little bit higher ankle, and some new technology will keep you feet a little more comfortable on the court. As with so many recent J’s, this is both loved and hated, which side are you on? they hot. the black and red ones better. but the blue ones hot to. ive always liked the 7’s. they kinda look like the 8’s to im copin these the day they come out.and just now thinking about it, its the best shoe to come out in a long time. ppl think that its easy to come out wit new shoes that are hot its not and if u dont get these they gona become retros later i bet they will be remembered as the first remake of the jordan 7. history has been made. I actually think this is the best idea that Jordan Brand has had in quite a while. This is how I’d apply this idea. Take every Air Jordan(1-23), slightly modify the look while still keeping it recognizable, add some of the best modern technology in sneakers, and release them in new colorways and some OG colorways. Considering that Jordan Brand has no direction now since they’ve stopped with their signature line, and they can’t continue on Jordan Hybrids (AJF, 6 Rings, etc.) and Retroes (which they havnt done in quite a while (not including the CDPs)). I can pretty much guarantee that I’ll be the only one on here that agrees with this but oh well. There’s my two cents =]

no your not cus i agree with you but some jays have bteer technology in them (like 21 22 23 and a couple more) but i think its a good idea they need to do something with the 19’s and 20’s cus those jordans are terrible o and i actually see something on these i didnt see before they done have any visable shoe whole laces i dont like that but they still tight

many ppl are sayin they’d only ball in these but i swear that’s wat they are suppose to be. Seven’s you can actually play ball in again. ppl do we forget that Jordan makes BASKETBALL shoes. If you can’t ball in them they lose their purpose and i think its a step in the right direction. to try and break away from the corner that JB has put themselves in. all they need to do is start makin more fresh silhouettes and i think re-vampin a classic is a good way to give yourself headway

i think people need to realize that retros truly arent the latest in on court tech, and that by taking classics and updating them solely for performance, its as if we the consumer are back in the time where the classics were the best.

Those are dope! I think it’s all about the sole with these hybrids. The Six Rings look garbage because of the bottom half of the shoe. The sole and basic feel of the AJ VII make this shoe. I would love to cop these.

I remember a Tinker Hatfield interview in which he said the inspiration of the Air Jordan II was to do something completely different.
Jordan Brand: Wake up. Switching up by doing fusions and hybrid mix-ups are not equivalent to doing something completely different.
Well, ok, some fusions look aight, but not this one.
But I really wanted to comment on this: Is the return of the “true high top” merely a fashion trend? Or does it also have to do with the prevailing thought on what’s actually better for your feet while ballin’? I love them for the style (mostly because I’m not much of a baller!), but would be interested to hear what the ballers on the street think…
