DJ Augustin Signs to Jordan Brand
Posted by Nick Engvall | Oct 7, 2008 There won’t be any more hazing of this rookie, as Charlotte Bobcats rookie point guard D.J. Augustin has become the newest member of Team Jordan. This is the second big name to sign a footwear deal with Jordan Brand, as last week we let you know that Sacramento Kings guard, Kevin Martin had signed to Jordan Brand. It is really no surprise, considering Augustin was the Bobcats pick at 9th overall in last years NBA draft, and Michael Jordan is the teams managing member of basketball operations. Augustin played his college ball at the University of Texas. He carries himself in a very professional manner, reminiscent of MJ himself, which makes him a perfect fit for Team Jordan. You won’t be seeing DJ wearing that “Little Miss Giggles” backpack the veterans had him wearing at training camp. Now you’ll just be seeing Jordan’s on his feet.

DJ Agustin is a fantastic player and with all the other pieces on the team he will make a wonderful impact, hopefully. And to top it off, he signed with JB and that’s another plus.

A lot of cats in the league are thinking $$$ first and foremost. That’s probably why you see a lot of them sign to Adidas, a big up front dollar and a signature shoe is more appealing than a slightly smaller contract amount and your number stitched into a pair of Hyperdunks. Just my opinion.

that’s a good look…. can’t wait until he and CP3 play against each other!as for Gerald wallace, everybody sleeps on his game but he’s a great defender with sick hops! i’m lookin 4 them 2 win over 40 games this season….( i hope!)larry brown system will put some players n the zone they wanna be in.J-RICH hyperdunks are just a sample of what other players will be rockin this season…. just pay close attention 2 every player exclusive…. there are already some sick kicks on tha scene!

Even if nike didnt offer beasley or rose that much they still should have went with nike. I mean who has even had a good signiture sneaker on the stripes. Both are going to eventually be allstar players, so why not sign with nike then renegotiate their contracts after they blow up like d.wade did.

that’s a good look … i thought he was w/ adidas b/c of his rookie pics. cause Texas is a Nike school but anyway … Nike has been real selective & isn’t breaking bread. Adidas payed Beasley the same as Rose & its not worth much so i’m wondering what Nike offered…

Man i remember our glory days at Brother Martin
I was a freshman so they made me guard the best player on the team…. which just so happened 2 be d.j…. HE used 2 WEAR MY ASS OUT lol.. if u loose he’ll jay it in yo face. If u guard him loose, he still will jay it in yo face… you simply cannot stop this dude from scoring…
On a possitive note i got sum shine time on espn cuz of this dude and he still a brother 2 me….

Of all those pics, the shoes that stood out to me the most was those cdp 22’s, lol, those are growing on me, I want to ball in them. I will cop that pack if it drops down to $250.

I wonder if Gerald is eva gonna sign too? I remember goin’ 2 some of da games n he would wear da AJ 8 navy/orange blaze/pea-pod jointz and AJ 8 white/orange/silver. DJ’s gonna be trouble for these boys by da way.
