Nike Cortez Flywire 2009 Releases
Posted by Nick Engvall | Oct 24, 2008 The Nike Cortez is one of the longest running sneakers from Nike. From the kids in the hood, to the grandparents in their walkers, it seems like every age has been able to rock the Cortez.
Nike is bringing an updated version of the timeless sneaker for 2009. By adding Free technology, and Flywire technology, they have brought this shoe from its origins in 1972 to our future in 2009. The blk/purple colorway is dope. But people will probably sleep on these.

Kudos to the Nike marketing machine. I’m torn. These are really really cool. But probably expensive. And which grandma/gangsta needs to spend $$ on technology - Flywire and Free - for a walk in the ‘hood? Then again, it’s more about style and the latest thing rather than performance, and if that makes you happy, then it makes you happy.
The swooshes are painted on? I preferred when they were stitched on. I guess that wouldn’t work with Flywire. Here, the swooshes look too “flat” or “shallow”.

Along with collecting a few pair of sneakers I like to run a lot which influences my collecting!!…so if I come across a pair of these I’ll probably get them just because it would be the thing for me to do!

just copped the maroons with the black laces…’dese joints are FIRE. and the lightest sneaker yet most solid sneaker I’ve ever had on my feet. put some AF1s on after wearing the flywires for a coupla days and they feel like dress shoes. think that they are not expensive at all….got mine from a friend, but heard they’re gonna run about $58.
