Posted by George Kiel III | Oct 13, 2008 The last time we showed you the Nike Zoom Kobe 4, many of you applauded the performance technology of the shoe but were disgusted by the low-cut appearance. This exclusive Nike Zoom Kobe 4 ‘West Coast’ may change your opinion.
Draped in a black upper, with gold and purple accents, this sneaker is obviously inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers colorway. “Carpe Diemâ€, which means ’seize the day’ in Latin, is imprinted, in gold, on the tongue of the shoe. A bull, the numbers 97 and 09 are also visible on the tongue in gold as well. Obviously, this particular colorway of the Kove 4 will be more limited than the others; however, if you do not want to wait till January you can snag a pair early at Marquee Sole. My mistake. It’s the year of the Ox (Chinese calendar). The picture on the tounge could be an ox or a bull. Now that I look at it. It does look more like an ox.

I think the bull on the tounge is because it’s the year of the bull (2009). ‘97 is the year Kobe came into the league, and ‘09 is for this year. Carpe Diem = Seize the Day in latin.

Jus like how jordan fans don’t care what kind of shoe comes out for him they buy it cuz they are jordans. Imma buy these jus cuz they are kobe’s.

Adidas did a much better job in making unique product for a unique player. The Crazy 8 and the one inspired by the Audi TT put all his Nikes to shame. None of his Nikes do his game or style justice. Look like bargain shoes at an outlet. He and Lebron are waaay past plastering cheap checks on the side. MJ was done with large checks on his second edition! These guys are 5 and 6 years in! Signatures don’t belong on shoes, either. The 2K and Hyperdunk were better, but hunreds of colorways water it down. Do my man justice with something special next year.

The bull is similar to the Lambo because Kobe lived in Italy when he was younger. And yes he came into the league in 97. I love the shoe. How can a mostly black basketball sneaker go wrong? And a clear outsole? Sounds pretty nice to me.

I guess these don’t look that bad, they’re actually pretty sweet with better pictures this time. They kinda look like some low-top Huarache 2k4s imo.

When pics of these first hit the site i was kinda on the fence. But i’m feeling these now! The utilizede the laker colors perfectly. the toebox is a lil plain as stated by #1. but the price tag makes up for it.

i think the front part needs improvement. it doesn’t look good with pure black. they should have put kobe’s logo or a black mamba on the tongue instead. but overall, it looks nice. i know many more will hate =)
