Ray Allen “NBA Championship” Jordan 11 PE
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Oct 28, 2008 Tonight, the NBA tipped off the new season tonight and like many opening nights, the top NBA stars took the court showcasing their new sneakers for the NBA season. The Boston Celtics took the court before the opening game to receive their rings for the 2007-2008 NBA Championship wearing gold and green sneakers. Ray Allen stepped onto the court in what could be argued to be the craziest pair of White/Metallic Gold-Varsity Green Jordan 11 PE’s.
Reactions have been mixed on the boards this evening about the shoes, but why don’t you make the call? Get a good look at the kicks after the jump and vote “Dope” or “Nope” to these shoes.

Honest opinion, they look like something you would find in a flea market. If you were to see someone in the streets with those you would swear they are FAKES. Grant it I know they are official but that c/w is not the best. One of the best Jordans to come out but not the best colorway Ray. I know he could have told them he didn’t like them or if he came up with the colorway it shows his style. NOPE!!!!!!!

THESE LOOK DISGUISTING!! but due to the fact that they are PE’s, therfore, extremely rare, all you so called sneaker heads will say you love these. all you losers dont care about is what you like as an individual, but instead, what is limited. MATT- if you would have posted a pair of 11’s in this same exact colorway saying they were an upcoming release, everyone would be flaming on them, cpmplaining about JB and the sick colorways of retros, but no, since ray allen is wearing them, they’re ok. bullsh%t!! ray llen does normally have some of the best PE’s in the league, but as an honest guy, i must say these look terrible, and i know that many of the people who have posted already, would feel the same if these were posted in a different way, and not as a PE (ex. as a fake or new release)

Truth of the matter is I’d give my left one to be able to design and have my own favorite Jordans, so I’m not about to hate on a guy for getting to do that. Tack on the fact it’s to commemorate teh championship of which he was a huge part, and I dig his kicks. I’m not a Celtic fan, so I wouldn’t go out and get them, but more power to him.
Here’s a curiosity — would you rather be able to design your own J’s (say, NikeID for the V’s), and create your own unique design that YOU know is legit (ie, not fake), or would you rather be rockin’ J’s as they come out on a limited basis? Seems to me that the attraction to the old school J’s is their limited nature.

These are basketball shoes, they are meant to be worn on a basketball court, and as such, these are amazing. Yeah, they wouldn’t look good with a jersey and a fitted, but who in their right mind is still sporting that outfit? The gold is absolutely beautiful and with the touches of green…wow! I’m about ready to declare these the greatest pair of kicks we’re going to see all season, it will be very difficult to top them.

Sir or mam…may you please re-read the article and understand that P.E. stands for Player Exclusive. that means their typically made just for the player, so chances are they have such a “rare” look, you mayb believe there not real. But i’m pretty sure that a nike/jordan brand championship winner like Ray Allen is offered his fair share of player exclusive colors for his sneakers.
