Footwear Faceoff - UNC Jordan Jumpman Pro vs. Kentucky Hyperdunk
Posted by George Kiel III | Nov 19, 2008 Last night, one of the most heralded college basketball rivalries took place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The UNC Tar Heels demolished the University of Kentucky Wildcats on national TV; however, that was not the only battle that took place on the hardwood.
The Air Jordan Jumpman Team Pro and the Nike Hyperdunk have been a constant force on the pro level, and it seems the college hardwoods are populated with them as well. Most of the Tar Heels sported Jumpman PEs in a White/Carolina Blue colorway with the school logo right below the Jumpman sign. High school basketball recruits have, or will choose UNC over many schools just because of its Jordan affiliation. What a nice recruiting tool! On the other side, UK players sported a royal blue/white Nike Hyperdunk PE with its school logo on the tongue. This is very similar to the Kentucky PE we showed you earlier this month.

I pick UNC, because thoses hyperdunks have to much blue. They should have made the shoe black or white with blue trim. But I like hyperdunks more.

half of the people on this page dont even play basketball so dont jump to conclusions that the unc team J’s are better just because its ‘UNC” and that they are “Jordans “because the hyperdunks are the best basketball shoe out right now hands down

Common now, u can’t compare a school who just wears NIKE to a school who wears JORDAN. Even when Cincy, Kansas, and Georgetown were JORDAN schools, nobody could match footwear wit da HEELS. CAROLINA BLUE all-day, everyday u heard!

UNC has been foreal for how amny years now??? Hansboro is scared of the league cuz he wont even matter there not tall enough not fast enough college god turned into a mere mortal in the NBA a la Christan Lattner, JJ Reddick, Glenn Robinson, and a couple more lames but they will come up short again look for UCONN to dominate this year btw Kentucky Hyperdunks are better Kentucky is rebuilding especially when you losing to VMI thats crazy for real and the best UNC shoes were the patent leather white ones that rasheed wallace and stackhouse wore back in the day that was a real team this UNC team is a bunch of softies

As much as I love UNC (both parents went there, I grew up there and I’m a lifelong die-hard fan), the Kentucky Hyperdunks are fire. Now if Nike decided to put out a Carolina Blue Hyperdunk… It’d be a wrap!
