LA Gear Returns With Vintage Styles
Posted by George Kiel III | Dec 11, 2008 Who remembers owning a pair of those LA Gear sneakers that featured the light on the heel? Back in the late ’80s and early ’90s, LA Gear undoubtedly took over the sneaker world; therefore, almost two decades later, LA Gear is making a return with some of its vintage styles.
LA Gear recently collaborated with Sportie LA to re-release detailed reproductions of a few of LA Gear’s OG styles such as LA Gear Fire, LA Gear Star Shooter, and the LA Gear K.A.J. If you recall, some of these styles, released back in ‘89-’90 as part of the “Unstoppable” line. The “Unstoppable” LA Gear line will publicly re-release in 2009, however, if you cannot wait until next year you can purchase them now at select Sportie LA shops. Via SportieLA. |

I hope the catapult will be available soon. I’ve ordered the unstoppable (silver) already. I didn’t buy LA Gear at 80s, I’ve to make up for it.

Wow! What awesome memories! I had at least six pairs of these shoes, including the Street Hikers! I must have the pink and green ones…they represent my sorority (Alpha Kappa Alpha)!!!

had 3 pairs of the “regulators” aka the la gear pumps. black/white. i don’t remember any of these colorways except the white/black hightops.

Shoe sneaks shouldn’t be retroed neva like LA Gear even if they did have a Hakeem the Dream the only ones i would get is them Karl Malone banned from the NBA because they would be a distraction from the game Light Gears those was nice.

Every shoe is inspired by a another shoe at some point. Give me one early jordan that isn’t inspired by the nike’s made before them, you can’t. So next time you call something a ” WANNA-BE ” air jordan, know what your talking about.
Anyways, for a 80’s shoe their nice but they ruined them with the glitter, wouldn’t cop em.

i hate to admit this, but i had the blk/whit (2nd from the top) joints when i was in jr. high. — man, i can’t believe that; horrible.
To this day, those and one pair of reebok pumps were the only times i didn’t wear nikes… oh yeah, and some old Airwalks, back when they had the lace savers. (Again, Jr. High and before)– But the Airwalks were grails… for real

I can definitely get with the last pair. What’s up with all that glitter and patent leather? Look like some ‘Kashi Kicks’ *lol* The colors are nice, though.
