Nice Kicks Staff Picks Week 11
Posted by George Kiel III | Dec 12, 2008 Since the start of our end-of-the-week Staff Picks, at least one person in our office always chose a basketball shoe; however, this time was surprisingly different. You can be stubborn and say the Nike Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan Fusion 20 are basketball sneakers, but let’s be real. None of you hoop in the Nike Air Force 1 (Rasheed, if you are checking us out, we are excusing you from this comment), and I hope none of you would go to the gym with pony hair on your shoes!

Good pick Matt. Glad to see NB being rewarded for good work. It seems like none of the other sites even think those shoes exist!

Nice picks this week, 850s were a great choice. The forces are ehhh to me, last weeks of the same blocking/material were so much better. Still a nice pair of forces, they just can’t compare to the ones they followed last week.

I think its funny that the person who picked the forces said there are too many white midsoles nowadays, because I don’t think there are enough. A white midsole is just so perfect on an af1, it accents what is probably the af1’s most defining feature.

and what is af1’s most defining feature? that is a topic worthy of a discussion. how a shoe so simplistic and unassuming be so iconic and widely accepted. my grand father and my youngest cousin both have pairs of af1’s. hmmm…. i like those new balances though. looks like they will be my new reebok ventilators

I agree with my man that picked the cons. even though I like the af1’s, that was an awsome idea they came up with. them cons are worn by a someone that is super fresh wit it!

The NB should be called Miami Vice. Love the 80s colorway. The AF1s are nice too.

the air force’s are a great pick they look so much more grown up than some previous colors i think the colorways are slowly maturing and i’ve about had it with white midsoles too cause its just an uphill battle to keep’em clean
