Adidas 60th Anniversary - Ecstasy Mid
Posted by Nick Engvall | Jan 6, 2009 The Adidas 60th Anniversary has officially begun, 2009 marks sixty years of the three stripes. We’ve seen a couple preview’s in the last month, but the latest is the Adidas Ecstasy Mid that you see here.
The Ecstasy Mid first hit the hardwood back in 1986, which looking at the retro, you can see the 80’s influence written all over these. This black white and metallic silver colorway features just enough subtleties and just enough shine to make it a contender. With a mix of patent leather accents, buttery smooth leather on the side panel and toebox area, and soft black nubuck edging the toe and heel area, these definitely have potential. These are fierce! Although I do agree about the ‘Tre-foil’ logo. Shoulda incorporated the three stripes instead. Just as well, I’ll probably get ‘em anyway.

I mean I really hate that leaf logo… Adidas should have (idk if it was around in 1986) used that logo made up of 3 stripes, instead of the leaf thing. The actual 3 stripes would look bad on this model.

the big ADIDAS wrapped around the heel gives me kind of a Terminator vibe
but these don’t have that awkward clown shoe profile like the Terms so
