Robert Williams x Vans Vault 2009
Posted by Nick Engvall | Jan 8, 2009 Vans has teamed up with Robert Williams, an amazing artist, and founder of Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine, for a couple pair of classic kicks from the Vans Vault.
The Robert Williams x Vans Vault releases include two Vans classic sneakers, the Era low top and the Chukka Mid. Williams covers both black and red silhouettes in his artwork he refers to as “cartoon-tainted abstract surrealism,” which is the same style that has filled the pages of Juxtapoz since inception in 1994. Williams’ work, and Juxtapoz, have paved the way for many artists that have crossed over into the streetwear culture, and subsequently the footwear industry, bringing it back full circle to his involvement on this Vans Vault collaboration. Check out both of the kicks after the break via MashKulture. |
