Sneakin’ Into The Club: adidas Y-3
Posted by Peter Sim | Jan 8, 2009 Happy new year people - we’re back one mo’ gin with another edition of Sneakin Into The Club, where we highlight lifestyle sneaker brands geared towards the fashion-oriented crowd.
This week, we’ll take a look at adidas y-3 , the upscale brand from adidas produced and curated by Japanese fashion designer, Yohji Yamamoto. If you haven’t seen some of the pieces from the clothing collection, you’ll immediately see how Y-3 offers a complete fit from the clothing to the accessories. The brand definitely takes on a futuristic, clean feel, and it’s great to see classic adidas silhouettes infused with high fashion. Let’s take a look at some of the models after the jump. |
Y-3 Bracket
The Y-3 Bracket is a subtle, but strong hi-top with the combination of different leather panels in the upper and ankle strap. The oversized perforated panels on the toebox and heel are also another nice feature that add to the depth of the shoe.

i like em but tryina get in2 the white ppl clubs round here it wont pop maybe its cause im black but the other nite the bouncer told my man to tell me we cant wear lugs in their establishment… i had on the blk canvas erybody mids like huh i got sum alife homie none the less i got in n ended up leavin early

This model shown is almost 3 years old. Y-3 hasn’t put out a really dope sneaker since then (besides maybe 2-3 styles).

honja’s came out a few months ago, you might still find a couple sizes on y-3s site they’re about $250-270

Honja highs and lows check em out in soho rite cross street from bape the honjas are actually tuff kanye and lupe had the red pare I prefer the metallic gold and metallic silver pairs of honjas ma g there fire the simplicity is wat makes em such an ill shoe get with it or get lost

The Y-3 logo should have been more subdued, I think it would have fit the style of the sub-brand better.
