Nike Zoom Flight Club: Tony Parker’s 1st Signature Shoe
Posted by George Kiel III | Feb 13, 2009 If you are the starting point guard for a three-time champion team and you average about 20 points a game, shouldn’t you have a signature sneaker by now? Well, in reality, that player is none other than Tony Parker. His years of hard work has finally paid off shoe-wise. Nike has blessed Parker with his first signature sneaker dubbed the Nike Zoom Flight Club.
Inspired by the San Antonio Spurs colorway, this shoe features a predominately white perforated upper with black accents on the midsole, heel and tongue area. It may seem very familiar to you because it is almost an exact carbon copy of Gary Payton’s Zoom Flight 98. Did Nike finally do Parker right or does it look like they created this sneaker in the spur of the moment? Via Marquee Sole. |

I picked some of these up at the niketown in Portland. They’re really nice and the cushioning is better than the Paytons. I got a black/red/grey colorway.

These look like the GP glove kicks that came out back in the day. I think I still got a black pair in the garage…let me go look…..
Feb 17, 2009 at 12:49 pm
They kinda also have and “adidas equipment” feel. The sole is similar to the “feet that you wear.” Like when kobe was first signed to adidas.
Feb 16, 2009 at 7:13 pm
they look like those one iversons and the nikes gary payton used 2 wear
Feb 16, 2009 at 10:56 am
rodman/gp kinda vibe…id copp
Feb 16, 2009 at 9:22 am
SMFH @ TP biting off GP.
Feb 16, 2009 at 3:25 am
Who designed this? good job on the “retroactive” feel to it. JB should adapt tp this scheme.
Feb 15, 2009 at 11:22 pm
Those remind me of the GP Glove’s…
Feb 15, 2009 at 10:37 pm
Did y’all see the Flint Grey/French Blue ones that J.R. Smith was rockin’ at the Dunk Contest? SICKE!!!
Feb 15, 2009 at 7:30 pm

Feb 15, 2009 at 6:06 pm
I LIKE THESE SHOES…I’M A BIG TONY PARKER FAN, I BEEN TALKING ABOUT HIM FOR A LONG TIME…ASK CLEVELAND FANS ABOUT HIM..
Feb 15, 2009 at 2:52 pm
And I really hate how I had to split up my ENTIRE comment, just to get a comment in. Something needs to be fixed on here or with Word Press.
Feb 15, 2009 at 2:49 pm
LOL! Idiots.
a.k. don’t you see the “TP” logo on the back?
Feb 15, 2009 at 1:16 pm
I’d pick these up. The only factor for me is what the black ones would like.
Feb 15, 2009 at 1:04 pm
JR rocked the baby blue/grey color, so these aint Parker’s shoes, they Parker color though. Not yet TP, not yet. Not hating, just saying.
Feb 15, 2009 at 11:22 am
these remind me of the gary paytons = “the glove”… i want those back
Feb 15, 2009 at 10:39 am
THESE ARE ACTUALLY BEFITTING OF TP
Feb 15, 2009 at 8:24 am

Feb 15, 2009 at 12:16 am

could it be that nike made a tp edition and these arent his shoes cause that super weird… especially being that tony parker did participate but in the huraches
Feb 14, 2009 at 10:22 pm

Feb 14, 2009 at 10:20 pm

Feb 14, 2009 at 9:57 pm
Seeing jr smith rocking these in the baby blue during all stars makes me want to cop these can’t wait.
Feb 14, 2009 at 8:46 pm

BETTER THAN LEBRONS SHOES
Feb 14, 2009 at 1:33 pm
if these were black/black i would copp these but other than that they are alright, nothing stands out but the glove
Feb 14, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Maybe a black with silver & white trim would look better. Anything beats the 2k9 Jordans tho!
Feb 14, 2009 at 12:19 pm
i like em alot but i dont cop player edition shoes
Feb 14, 2009 at 11:26 am

Feb 14, 2009 at 10:13 am
HOT HOT HOT
Feb 14, 2009 at 9:44 am
#47 are you retarded? He doesnt deserve his own shoe? He’s only one of the top point guards in the NBA that has been a key part of a 3-time championship team..ANYWAY…these are nice..!!
Feb 14, 2009 at 9:34 am
Nice shoes…but he doesn’t deserve his own signature shoe
Feb 14, 2009 at 9:14 am
resemble Gary Payton’s old sig kicks
Feb 14, 2009 at 8:53 am
answer x copied from GP and AJ13…
Feb 14, 2009 at 7:14 am

Feb 13, 2009 at 11:45 pm
say what you want but im going on marqueesole now to copp these.
besides the foamposites, and the 1/2 cents, these are third so far for decent looking nikes. i may buy those jordans just cause but they suck
Feb 13, 2009 at 10:37 pm
NICE KICKS:
I was going to ask you to do a Gary Payton throwback thursday a couple times. . . do you have any pics to compare these to?
Please do segment!
THANKS
Feb 13, 2009 at 10:34 pm
these are great! i think nike overdid it a little bit on the heel area but other than that, the shoe will be copped when they on sale lol. i wish nike took this concept and applied it to the morph technology from the alpha project!
Feb 13, 2009 at 10:32 pm
i like em…well..minus da strap…cant wait to see more colorways
Feb 13, 2009 at 10:19 pm
oh wow…it’s the Glove ‘09 version.
Feb 13, 2009 at 10:04 pm
not feeling these
Feb 13, 2009 at 9:49 pm
if the GP’s wont retro then I’ll jus cop these. they dont look bad at all. the upper is a bit plain but whats a sharpie for! lol. mos def cop for $90.
Feb 13, 2009 at 9:19 pm
These shoes are whack. Would never wear these not even to ball in
Feb 13, 2009 at 9:09 pm
these are nice…in the summer with a fresh white tee…hmmm
Feb 13, 2009 at 8:00 pm
these are nasty, bring the gloves back and give em to tony, then release em in canada
Feb 13, 2009 at 7:57 pm
yo dese jawns do look like answer 10s
Feb 13, 2009 at 7:29 pm
#25 - they also remind me of the Answer Xs.
to be honest, they’re not that bad.
Feb 13, 2009 at 7:00 pm
Yeah, the remind me of the payton’s. I like em though
Feb 13, 2009 at 6:43 pm
Man, I wish they just RETRO da Payton’s and we will be happy.
Feb 13, 2009 at 6:38 pm
maybe they’ll retro the glove now!!!! i wont get these due to the fact im not a tony parker fan.
Feb 13, 2009 at 6:28 pm
I might have to get these… since Nike doesn’t want to retro the GPs!!!
Feb 13, 2009 at 6:07 pm
these kinda remind me of answer 10’s
and gp’s..
they look aiight..
i’d get these for the performance not so much the look..
Feb 13, 2009 at 6:03 pm
Finally something worth looking shoe gonna come out.
Yes it looks like some 1996ish Nike design, but cleaner looking.
Remind me of GP,Air Shake,Air Pippen, those hot shoes.
Yes, it may be lacking on originality, but when was the last time you saw TRUE Originality in design world?
If you study design very well enough, architecture to fashion design, you will learn that there is no original.
Every design get some ideas, inspirations from somewhere.
Plus this is comming out from Nike.
If this shoe looked like ol’ school Puma, Reebok, And1, now that’s a problem!
Bottome line, this one looks clean! Gotta love Zoom Air!
WAY~ better than $230 Air Jordan 2009 crap.
Feb 13, 2009 at 5:38 pm
Not feeling these because of the lack of originality (too close to the Glove).
Feb 13, 2009 at 5:32 pm
I hate Tony Parker, but I love these shoes. Can’t wait for more colorways.
Feb 13, 2009 at 5:22 pm
The gloves were hot.. which make these hot..
Feb 13, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Soled, thats cuz sharkleys were a hybrid shoe. And if Im not mistaken, the phenoms are a hybrid of the same shoes that made the sharkleys - the barkleys.
Feb 13, 2009 at 5:07 pm
They’re alright. They look like a classic. I personally like the shoes that zip up but i got wide feet so i can’t buy em cause they won’t zip up all the way!
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:56 pm
You should get a pic of the Gloves and compare them on the site. Why is Nike doing this, is the kitchen out of order? The Phenoms look like AJ 11’s and these look like Gloves, The Sharkleys reminded me of something too….This trend sucks!
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:53 pm
These kinda give off a kamikaze vibe… Just the shape, and the midsole is kinda spiked, sorta like the kamikaze upper. Its obviously really inferior to the kamikazes, at least asthetically. I dont think that strap could be shoved on the shoe worse….
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:49 pm
OK….I have a feeling Nike is going somewhere with this…I think they are remaking updated version of old signature shoes…Like Air Raid bacme the Air Jaq…old gloves became this…If i’m not mistaken it says “Fresh” on the insole…don’t be surprised when you see other shoes with that “Fresh” label.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:45 pm
they totally ripped off the air GLOVE!
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:40 pm
LOL. FUNNY# 12 i have 2 agree with most of you and say that the do remind me of the GPs. these are ok i would use them 2 ball. but rather wait till they come out on east bay. lol
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:27 pm
the glove is the love
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:27 pm
SWOOOOSH!!
Sorry, got taken by the big nike logo across it…
Who makes these, again?
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:24 pm
i like it. The vis-zoom, the perforated upper, the colours, it looks good. It it really does look like da Payton Gloves a lot.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:21 pm
And what kind of name is “Zoom Flight Club” anyway? They shoulda called ‘em the “Zoom Frog.” Double meaning AND it takes the slur back.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:20 pm
I like them, however, the price of these kicks will influence the sales, especially because of TP’s lack of “marketing appeal,” especially compared to the others.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:19 pm
They’re no T-Bugs.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:19 pm
Yep rodmans and paytons look-a-likes. Up to date though. They do look ok, I’ll wait till they hit the NIKE outlet.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:14 pm
These look a bit like those zippered Gary Payton kicks fro mback in the day. they look like they’d be great to ball in if you’re a PG. I’d cop.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:13 pm
this mite be tha first shoe were idk if i like them or not.
i needa see more colorways before i can say. but i do kno it look betta without that strap.
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:08 pm
C/S to number 3 they look a lot like the gloves that were supposed to comeback out the year miami won the title..
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:06 pm
THOSE ARE CREATIVE:LOOK ALOT LIKE THEM GP20 “PAYTONS”
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:06 pm
2nd!!!!!!! YAY! they is ugly
Feb 13, 2009 at 4:04 pm
1st… aint gonna lie these are hot kinda remind me of the rodmans
