Chris Paul introduces Jordan CP3.II at Foot Locker
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Mar 5, 2009 Last evening, Jordan Brand and Foot Locker hosted an event giving fans the opportunity to meet two time All-Star, Olympic Gold Medalist, and point guard of the New Orleans Hornets, Chris Paul. At the Canal Street Foot Locker, Chris signed autographs and gave fans a chance to get a closer look at his second signature shoe with Jordan Brand, the Jordan CP3.II.
A limited Mardi Gras edition of the Jordan CP3.II released last month, but the shoe will release nationwide at Foot Locker stores in two colors on March 14th for $118. Click here to see more photos from the event. |

ok #15 you by the shoes because you like them and the style is important then you worry about balling in them ugly shoes
Mar 7, 2009 at 11:00 pm
# Good for you that you got a sign pair WOW! All you can do is sell em, hold on to em, or wear em which is dumb wearin a sign sneaker it degrades the valve, as for the pair you gonna crush 2 tha streets It’s a GENERAL RELEASED SNEAKER which means the average kick store is gonna have these there is no need to hate.
Mar 7, 2009 at 6:26 pm
the cp3 are sick. Peace
Mar 7, 2009 at 4:23 am
y’all all hating on cp kicks I cop 2 pair I have an sign pair and an pair I’m going 2 crush the street n. So all u haters fall back n get better hobbies cuz the shoes r dope!!!!! Nola 4 life holla back!!!!!!
Mar 7, 2009 at 12:33 am
Looks too similar to the 2k9s…and I don’t like 2k9s.
Mar 6, 2009 at 10:58 pm
OK first of all let me just say the pics really dont do this shoe any justice. Its why you always have to see a shoe in person because it looks totally different.
I actually copped these today, but to be honest, they look waaaay better in a smaller shoe. I wear a size 6y and everybody thought they looked hot on my foot.
Im a girl by the way, but for some reason being a 6y and with this design and the colorway, I am very easily able to get away with this style.
So i guess they arent for everybody..
Mar 6, 2009 at 9:16 pm
ugly kicks
Mar 6, 2009 at 6:06 pm
CP3 should stick to wearing Six Rings. LOL!
Mar 6, 2009 at 5:44 pm
I actually braved parade traffic to get onto Canal to pick these up on release day. The pictures don’t do the shoe justice and they’re probably the most comfortable pair of shoes outside of running trainers I’ve had on my feet in years.
Mar 6, 2009 at 4:21 pm
i saw them in the store today they actually seemed pretty fly.
Mar 6, 2009 at 2:31 pm
haaatttteeerrrrrrrsssssss
quit hating on the designer
Mar 6, 2009 at 12:05 pm
both the cp3 2 and the 2k9 are great and according to sales the 2k9 is third only to 6rings and the air force 1 do your homework and as you all know the black version of the 2k9 will sale out.
Mar 6, 2009 at 9:45 am
the Mardi Gras colorway is sick!!! the design is ok, not classic, but not that bad
Mar 6, 2009 at 9:44 am
yo number 15….all jordans are for basketball i get that…but in the past they have been more aesthetically appealing thats all im sayin…no hate for jason mayden…i realize jordan are the hardest shoes in the world to design
Mar 6, 2009 at 9:38 am
This mayden guy needs to get fired asap! Cant design a decent looking shoe if his life depended on it!!
Mar 6, 2009 at 9:30 am
Retro’s run the streets for a reason, when they first dropped people were buying them up and everyone had to have a pair regardless of what sport they were for. If you think in ten years these shoes can be re-released and sell like the Reebok Question, you must be out your damn mind! I’m just sayin these shoes don’t compare to the “buy-a-bility” of ANY retro shoe on the market right now. People will always want a classic, whatever it is, these just don’t have classic written on them.
Mar 6, 2009 at 8:54 am
JB did CP3 wrong. Don’t give me the BS about the history and doing homework (I know the background on every detail of the design) and yes, CP has to say “sure I like this one”, but it still isn’t astetically appealing. The tech on the shoe is great. Performance I’m sure is amazing, but there are 20 pairs out there right now I’d be seen on the court with before this one.
Mar 6, 2009 at 8:48 am
FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION…….FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION…..
everything that Tinker did…for the most part utilizes this theory…..throw in some stylistic cues from Michael…and wha la!….
…in this case…use Chris Paul….and there you have a design.
Retro’s run the streets nowadays…so people are looking for more Dumb Dumb shoes.
Mar 6, 2009 at 8:28 am
caca
Mar 6, 2009 at 7:52 am
This shoe is miles ahead of the CP3 from last year. More of a point guard shoe. CP3’s game is both speed and power and the shoe is designed that way. Great details on the shoe. Half of you can never imagine what it takes to design a shoe for a particular athlete. I have sat with Jayson Mayden at a restaurant and saw him just pick up a pencil and start drawing, and I don’t mean stick figures, incredibly detailed designs. The man has talent. Period!! The athletes tell the designers what they are looking for in a shoe and the designer runs with it. He’s the one that has to wear the shoe for 82 games plus the playoffs. Remember CP3 signs off on the designs, after wear testing and a couple of design tweaks.I appreciate details in a shoe and nobody does it better than JB. Haters do what you do, but real shoe people recognize game. Shoe is hot in all the colrways I have seen.
Mar 6, 2009 at 7:17 am
these are the only jordans I would buy
Mar 6, 2009 at 6:44 am
one word:COPPED
Mar 6, 2009 at 6:43 am
Actually the CP3 II mardi gras edition sold well compared to any other new JB brand shoes. They sold out in a lot of footlockers;and online footlocker/champs/footaction/eastbay in a few days. They were restocked and are almost gone again. I think they are nice for a new JB brand shoe. As much as I love retros, lets be real JB brand can’t just sell retros and not make any future shoes to keep the brand going. Nice shoe…
Mar 6, 2009 at 6:13 am
NICE!!! DESIGN (MODERN) BETTER COLORWAY…NICE WORK JASON MAYDEN ON THIS AND ON THE 2K9/ALL YOU HATERS…KEEP YOU GAME UP!!!! AND STOP DE BS….THIS SHOES HAVE SOME HISTORY SO (DO YOR HOMEWORK LITTLE BOYS)….I GOT ALREADY MINE LIKE 3 WEEKS AGO…THEY ARE DOPE!!!
Mar 6, 2009 at 2:55 am
His shoes is hot i said it before and i will say again ” Son!!, cats need swagger handed on them on a plate others know to get it gwinning.. cp3 shoes aint handed to you but they definitely got wave to them!! a good fit sets them off neday!!!
Mar 6, 2009 at 2:47 am
These shoes are UGLY!! Tell me why I can’t tell if it is the outside/inside view of the shoe. I have seen these a couple of times and still can’t determine what side of the shoe I am looking at.. Can someone help me out.
Mar 6, 2009 at 1:47 am
non hater you’re an idiot!
Function AND style/looks play a big part! On court or off.
Even if I were to ONLY hoop in a pair of kicks, these would NOT be it…
Simply because they’re UGLY!
The style of the shoe, aside from it’s looks is nothing close to “nice looking.”
Mar 6, 2009 at 1:43 am
#18: Exactly! On court or off the court, the kicks should still look good. Now, I’m 100 % sure that both the Jordan 2009 and this CP3.II are very comfy, durable and provide all the things you need of a good basketball shoe.
… but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re ugly!! (although the all black colorway of this CP3.II is not that bad). And yes, it is possible for a shoe to be good for basketball AND look good as well - just look at the Hyperdunks, KD1’s, Jordan True Flights (okay, my opinion) etc.
Maybe this is hate towards the designer of the shoe, but it’s straight talk. I wouldn’t buy a shoe I don’t like the appearance of - and I think most people feel the same way.
Bad shoe design –> Bad sales –> Bad income for Jordan Brand.
Step yo game up, JB!
Mar 6, 2009 at 1:34 am
Charles Barkley hates these also! LMAO!
Mar 6, 2009 at 1:09 am
On the court or off the court i don’t anybody the bought sneaks for just function you still have to some what like how the shoe looks if the sneaks is jacked up from the start then most people i know ain’t even gonna waste time tryin it on. A sneak can have technology for days but just like the smart person that is ugly it doesn’t matter 99% of the time because the looks kills it for everything else.
Mar 6, 2009 at 12:50 am
these arent bad at all! even tho they kinda look like the wade 2s…but man i like em!!
Mar 5, 2009 at 11:28 pm
word to what 15 said. these aren’t for wearing around. they are for playing basketball in.
Mar 5, 2009 at 11:16 pm
everyone that trashes the shoe only wear them for style. its about playin ball in them you stupid kids. more than just style, its function. get a life.
Mar 5, 2009 at 11:02 pm
HATERS!
Mar 5, 2009 at 10:39 pm
Wow….A lot of people straight trashing the designer LOL! Thats cold bro.
Mar 5, 2009 at 10:28 pm
They decent but not something i would look to purchase for some reason i think it’s been the designs or just who’s doing the designing. They only two models deep don’t see a lot of people rockin the CP3’s or the melo’s for that matter.
Mar 5, 2009 at 10:11 pm
terrible design ! to many random shapes ! they don’t flow right
Mar 5, 2009 at 10:00 pm
…I like the white/sunstone there aight
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:53 pm
I am so ashamed cuz I’m from Chicago and so is the dude who designed this shoe and the 2k9… this designer really needs 2 step his game up
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:52 pm
for ball.. i’d rather wear some pro models
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:35 pm
yeah these kinda wack, easy pass.
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:30 pm
daps to jb, amen, my thought’s exactly dude, what an effin letdown.
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:19 pm
this is the same mo fo that designed the jordan 2k9’s….and these kicks are wack compared to the first cp3’s in my opinion
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:16 pm
bad design work!
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:04 pm
there prety cool yuhh
Mar 5, 2009 at 9:03 pm

Mar 5, 2009 at 8:57 pm
