Jordan CP3.II Performance Review
After an amazing year making the All-Star team, averaging a double-double (with assists), and helping bring home the Gold, Jordan Brand has another signature shoe for Chris Paul. Jordan Brand’s Senior Footwear Designer Jason Mayden designed Chris Paul’s second signature shoe, the Jordan CP3.II (“C-P three point two”) for what many would argue to be the game’s best point-guard.
The Jordan CP3.II made its public debut in limited numbers, but many of you have been asking how the shoes perform leading up to the nationwide release tomorrow, March 14th. Nice Kicks put the the new Jordan CP3.II to the test and the results are in! Click here to see how they performed as well as some detailed shots of the Jordan CP3.II. |

Cool shoe colorway, not feeling it though..
alright not all that!
these are sum nicekicks.com
Too bad they look like Bourbon Street threw up on them.
haters… i copped from shoetrends for 85. Definitely worth it.. Very sick colorway and damn good hoopin shoe
man yall some haters and not sneakerheads yall need to stop hating on every shoe just respect the culture! you guys arent real sneaker heads!you just fell in love with the retros air jordan was dropin now he aint dropin no more!yall aint nuthin but some air jordan retro flunkies
oh yeah and this shoe goes hard in the paint
Marcel speaks the truth…
Marcel, what? These shoes are designed terribly from an asthetic perspective. From this review it is obvious that they are a great performance shoe, but I think most “sneakerheads” are more interested in asthetics. If you like the way this shoe is designed I’m not trying to convince you to stop liking it, but I am trying to convince you to respect other people’s opinions. Yeah, some people might be very close minded with sneakers and only be interested in retro jordans and whatever else they’re told is hot. But this is coming from someone who is strictly interested in the design of a sneaker: the CP3 II is ugly. I’m sure some of the people you called “haters” are looking at it from this perspective too, and are just seeing a design they don’t like. It doesn’t mean we’re close minded, it just means we don’t like this shoe.
from a design standpoint, these sre wack. and another thing, jordan brand needs to do a much better job promoting carmelo and chris paul,s signature shoes,i mean i dont see any commercials or anything like that for either of them.
I understand Bkost but I do not want to speak for Marcel but I think what he is saying it is 2009 time for us to all open our eyes a little wider. Bottom line with time technlogy and looks change….and lets be honest all them fusions are pretty much beaty ain’t no reason why we all shoild not get are hands on some retros at a decent price without some dumb package coming out for $300.00 plus… Hey if you love jordans I respect that but i go to the point today I’m done with all this garbage for example dentros gimme a break go buy some foams and call it a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m not a fan of Jordans myself, there are very few Jordans I even like.
I can understand what your saying about the looks changing with time but looks can change for the worse. If better looking shoes are available I’m not going to buy what I feel is an inferior design. People can call it living in the past, but I don’t really care.
Not all modern shoes are bad, though. I happen to like the Lebron VI, even though some of the colorways are really bad. The Hyperdunk is decent too, so are Sharkleys (which imo are the best hybrid, not the half cent).
shut up marcel, you act like you know somebody, i actually like this colorway, but brand jordan will never stop retroing, they know better..
Yea jb will never stop retroing but jb is looking toward the future I just think people should stop hating and broaden their horizens personaly I enjoy seeing new creativity but still have a die hard appreciation for retros. I just wish people would just stop hating cause it’s the one thing I dislike in sneaker culture among sneakerheads= people with passion and love for their kicks
who the eff would put fish scales on shoes?! cp3 aint aquaman!!!
not really feeling this colorway but its still a beautiful shoe
I saw the shoe in person earlier today and its begining to grow on me. The bright colors on Blk make the shoe look sleek.
Hmm, I guess these over the 2k9′s for now.
All you haters get this through your head
basketball shoe made now are designed with performance in mind first then come the aesthetics. if your just going to talk trash just stick to your retros and be quiet.
Yo stop saying were hating….we know this is performance first but so is every other jordan ever made….from 1-23 ….form has followed function and overall they have all been more aesthetcially appealing….dont act like sneakers are on a new trend were performance comes first its always been that way….let people have their own opinions
Yeah these guys are so stuck on design they dont sit down and take the time out to relize wut they are buying and so they put there foot in there mouth by disrespeting classic shoes
And its not an opion when u guys say that a movement like the jordan brand is going down hill its disrespect to air jordan and ballers everywhere!since when has a design difned a player? perfromance does! so u pretty boys just need to sit down! in my mind i believe the air jordan fuisons are more for these pretty boys or Air max 95s!
those aqua jordan 8s should have had that teal contrast stitching; as for these=they look terrible.
put some pink on them and they look will look like kanye designed them
Great SHOE….CP future of JB
I’m amazed
ugly design!
CP3.II is the neatest MJs to come out since the MJXIIIs and the colorways are maaaad, they gonna take off.
Holy hatred. Read the reviews and maybe comment about how other shoes you have perform. Believe it or not kids, there are other good shoes out there that are not part of the Air Jordan series.
for a non-retro, I actually like these
Marcel, you’re acting like Jordan is infallable now. We’re disrespecting the Jordan line by pointing out an area where they could do better? Like someone else in this post said, all Jordans have kept asthetics in mind, even though performance is first. By no means am I saying a basketball shoe shouldn’t take performance into account before anything else, all I’m saying is you can’t drop asthetics.
To be honest, critsizing this shoe isn’t even as giant a blasphemy against Jordan as you make it out to be. Jordan was originally just a line of one shoe, and that one shoe actually isn’t that bad asthetically this year. I don’t like it much, but I would never compare it to this. All the team Jordans, fusions, and other signature shoes are just shoes that take the Jordan name to sell, they can’t be compared to the original.
Which brings me to another point, if this shoe was made by Reebok you would probably be in here talking about how terrible it is. Why can’t some people ever admit when Jordan did bad? This shoe is asthetic trash.
Marcel, I never said Jordan brand was going downhill. Outside of their main signature shoe, I beleive they are, but like I said the shoes outside of their main signature shoe don’t even really count as Jordans in my head.
bottom line here is, if these weren’t jordans then people would be burning them. wearing mayden’s designs is like crapping on your feet.
i like the way how on both of his kicks he has a dedication to his grandfather,
Oh yeah for the record, I don’t even like retro Jordans that much. I think a few are decent, but I am by no means a Jordan head. Simpler designs are best, not that I don’t like any shoes with alot of panels, it’s just simplicity is usually the best route with me.
The bottom line is the CP3 Signature line is the future of jordan brand and probably the only shoe line that nike/jordan has right now as far as basketball signature shoes go that will be retro, the design is EXTREMELY similar to the 23s that most people loved due to the Considered programming design and so far the CP3 I and CP3 II are hot kicks.
don’t buy em now and you will have nobody but yourself to blame 15-20 years from now when you are waiting in line for a retro and the people with OGs are saying i told you so. as far as this colorway it’s nice but i like the majority white one better
I’m not seeing the design similarities to the XX3. If you mean they are both considered, that’s cool and I didn’t know that about the CP3.II, but that doesn’t make them similar.
Also, I highly doubt that this is the only Nike/Jordan shoe that will retro in the future. In fact, this is one of the least likley to retro in the future, not just because of design, but beause it is a gimmicky shoe. I mean, it is branded by two athletes. Maybe in the future Jordan won’t even be remembered for Mike and people will just think of Jordan as a banrd, I don’t know. So I guess I could be wrong. But still, I think the Lebron VI/Kobe IV (even though I don’t like the Kobe IV) are both much more likley to retro in the future, simply because they are more original than this.
By the way, let’s say by some miracle this shoe does retro- Why am I going to like this shoe in the future if I don’t now? Because other people do? Because then it will be talked about like people talk about retro Jordans now? I’m sure I’m safe to pass on this shoe and not care when and if it retros.
I should change what I said about similarities to the XX3 because when I look hard enough I can see what you are saying, to an extent. The stitching I can see as similar to the XX3, though that doesn’t really change my opinions. Partly because I don’t think the XX3 is that amazing, partly because even if I did think it was inspirations from a shoe I like doesn’t change that I don’t like this final product.
true words BKost….and in my experience with jordan retroes is alotta people were them for casual use rather than ball…..and these shoes would look like trash with some street clothes IMO….im not a fan of maydens designs as of right now…until i see something better imma break out the deadstock cp3 1′s in the future
Is shoetrends.com a legit site?
These shoes look sick. They look like the Jordan XX3′s. From the looks of it, performance will be superb. I wouldn’t mind coppin’ a pair of those! CP3 all the way!
The better of the colorways (imo)
DaMN GOTTa GEt
Anon, shoetrends is legit and probably one of the best places for deals on recent releases.
This proves the torch has been passed to the Lebron and Kobe signatures.
leave JB alone.
these will definitely be my next basketball shoe. how appropriate that the best player in the nba has the best overall shoe
Crazy colorway but not my taste, they are far better than the 2009s and at a more resonable price.
okay i work at champs tried sellin these they come in this color way and we also have em in all black the all black are nice its a good basketball shoe from what i hear people kept asking “ay did those new jordans come out” an i pointed them straight to these and all you could see are gold teeth on peoples faces … too bad they dont buy them tho maybe when they get those pay checks in and fellow shoeheads some of the shoes that come out now will one day be a “retro” so dont hate the shoe keep collecting its a culture not a trend remember that
Shoehead, the word “retro” has nothing to do with anything. Regardless of when these were made, they look bad to me. Alot of shoes that are considered “retro” now look bad to me too, and alot of shoes that are new right now look good to me.
Why can’t anyone dislike something anymore without it being called “hating”?
^^ Actually, that is quite true. Why is that?
I really love these kicks. The blue on black make these shoes pop. The back is a little vibrant, but dang man … it’s supposed to rep N.O., so I’m cool with it. Hope I can still copp this sneak.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!

You kids might not remember but MOST of the Air Jordan OG releases hit clearance racks/sale prices before they were gone. I can tell you I picked up 9′s, 10′s, 11′s, 12′s and 13′s for way less then retail, at the mall when the original’s released in the 90′s.
It wasn’t until after “retro” 3′s and 4′s came out that there were all of a sudden “sneakerheads” were everywhere.
Nick, just because alot of people form their opinions based on what the crowd says doesn’t mean everyone does. Is it not possible that someone didn’t like the 11s originally, and didn’t like them when they retroed either? Do you think that no one out there makes decisions based on what they like?
Come on… It seems like no one will just admit that it is possible that some people truly don’t like this shoe. You assume that we either only like what is popular or are just anti-Chris Paul.
And again- I don’t like most retro Jordans! There are alot of retro shoes I do like, but very few of them are Jordan. I really, truly just look at the shoe itself when I’m deciding what I like, if that’s not so ahrd to beleive.
my eyes hurt from seeing the photo, too much things going on a pair of shoes
being sneakerhead are okay, but reseller are such a pain
as for retro jordans, no matter how ugly they are, people will still buy them at full retail price
BKost – I wasn’t trying to sell anybody on the shoe, God knows I am one of the most opinionated when it comes to my personal taste, most people don’t share my opinions. Some of my friends truly dislike this shoe, it’s definitely growing on me.
I’m the same way as you, if I like it that’s all that matters. Ask some of the homies, I’m jockin’ some Pony’s right now! Never thought that would be the case.
I just remember picking up those originals for dirt cheap when I was in high school/college, sometimes I think people base their opinion on whether or not a shoe sells well or whether or not their friend is gonna cop.
I wasn’t referring to you BKost, in general, I don’t understand how people can hate a sneaker, regardless of who it’s made by.
In that case, looks like I misunderstood you. My bad lol.
boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy crispyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
im old school and i like the cp3,2s, its only a shoe,if you like them buy them if not dont
FRESH.
i got and thet are tight whens a different color come out.?

Damn you little kids love hating on anything that isnt hypebeasted. These are a pretty good ball shoe and the design is not bad so stop saying that all new kicks suck. If you do then just stop collecting kicks

Except the fact that there are some HATERS in my school who step on them on purpose. >:[
