Nike Air Tech Challenge Hybrid
Posted by Nick Engvall | Mar 20, 2009 Nike has been pushing hybrids for awhile now. We’ve seen nearly every genre of footwear, now Nike is taking the Tech Challenge tennis line into the hybrid culture.
Nike Air Tech Challenge Hybrid has finally started to arrive at retailers. For those Agassi fans hoping to see the Air Tech Challenge IV, these will have to do, because as of now, there is no plans for the ATC IV OG to be retro’ed. In the times of a rough economy, count on sneaker companies to give back and hook you up with four shoes for the price of one! I played tennis back in the day and loved Agassi and the gear he rocked but couldn’t afford it. I copped the Air Tech 1s for $70 the week they came out and I recently copped the AT2s for $50 about 2 months ago. Nike please drop the other Air Tech retros, please. This hybrid is not going to cut for me. You guys should also drop the Air Tech polos and tees from back in the day.

I’m sorry, but I’m a fan of the Tech’s because I’m a child of the Nike 90’s (Air Max, Air Tech Challenge, Air Jordan, YEAH)…but I’m not a fan because Lime Green looks awesome with Hot Lava and 60’s acid pattern. These are FUGLY. Stick with one Tech retro at a time, no hybrids. I don’t mix scotch with Heineken…keep it simple Nike.

My thing is, why couldn’t they bring back the original versions of all the kicks in the first place? That’s why Nike’s falling off in the retro department. The end result: a poorly-executed hybrid dipped in radioactive fluid. And #19, if you like them then why dont you think you would wear em?
