Fat Joe To Release Recession-Friendly Sneakers

Terror Squad gets a call out on the upper of the shoes dubbed The Recession. Protege, like Starbury, is one of the latest low cost shoe brands started up by NBA players distributed exclusively to cost conscious outlets that include K-Mart. This initial sketch made it to the web today via SneakerFiles but is getting many to wonder if Fat Joe has hung up his Nike’s for something that’s his own. No word yet if these will sport the $35 price tag that most Protege shoes go for. We’ll leave this up to you. Copped or Flopped? |

Y’all need to stop hating and start supporting. Its crazy how so many people hate on a man that’s trying to look out for tough times. Y’all are crazy and as far as his music goes he’s a solid rapper. Just everyone hopped on 50’s bandwagon. Get rich or die trying was a classic. Everything else garbage. He won’t make it as long as joe in the game.

First of all, the Yankees suck!! second, no **** sherlock, only an idiot thinks that retailers are paying close to retail price, they purchase in large quantities, its called wholesale. your telling people to educate themselves, dude, if there are retail outlets (other than discount outlets) selling air force 1’s for $25 and people are payin $70 or so for them then yeah, you can call them idiots but they arent. the consumer cant just purchase the shoe directly from the manufacture for that price. New balance cost like $12 to make but nobodys paying that!!! People will buy what they want if they can, period!! By the way I’ll give ya that, Fat Joe is still solid compared to new trash out there (Plies,Rick Ross, most southern rappers) but he did fall off big time!!

It is so funny how much people will hate on everything someone does especially when they are actually trying to show some social responsibility. The same people who will say he forgot about being from the BX, growing up in the projects,having little to no money, making a name for himself by performing on Apollo’s stage, releasing music as a way to stay positive, the list goes on and on. You all need to be applauding his effort to encourage wise spending instead of killing or slinging drugs to buy outrageously priced sneakers made out of poor quality materials just because it has NIKE or notable brand on it. As someone who has worked for a major athletic retailer, you all would be pissed to know that your treasured Nike Air Force ones are actually made and sold to major distributors for 25.99 while your dumb asses will drop hundreds on them. Educate yourself before you start hating.

I must agree with joe on all aspects but one, i believe Fat Joe is a sneakerhead regardless of how much $ he has to spend on them. The sneakers are trash!! I dont care if hes lookin out for ppl in the streets or not, a sneakerhead would not put out a shoe for sears or Kmart. Your tellin’ me he couldnt get a deal with Reebok?? Better than most shoes that are the result of trying to keep the cost low. I wonder if Fat Joe actually designed them? I’d think someone who is susposed to be a huge sneakerhead would know a little bit more about design, and I’d expect and AF1 head to come with something simple.

First off, those look like trash IMO…They may be good for the walls of Payless next to Shaq sneakers but thats about it..
Second of all, Fat Joe should just stick to rapping. Im not gonna lie, i like some of his songs (his older stuff with Pun mostly) but Fat Joe is defiantly not a designer in my book…His Capture The Flag fitted with New Era was realllllllly weak if you ask me….
And besides all that, i dont really think Fat Joe has a real sneaker obsession…Hes just looking to fit in somewhere and has the money whatever he wants…Having 500 pairs of kicks doesnt prove anything, it just shows you have unlimited funs to spend on whatever…Its all about your passion in the shoe game, which doesnt cost a dime…I always see Joe bragging about all his sneakers…Dont get me wrong, he has a lot of heat and a respectable collection, i would just respect it more if i actually believed the person had a love for the industry…
I know kids who only got 5 sneakers that have more love for sneakers and knowledge about sneakers then kids who have 200 pairs…People need to stop thinking the size of their collection proves their love…
