Kicks On Court: Honoring David Robinson
Posted by Nick Engvall | Apr 6, 2009
Today it was announced that David Robinson, along with some other basketball legends, is one of the newest members of the Hall of Fame. Of course, “The Admiral” had some memorable kicks on court, so we had to take it back. I can all but guarantee that we’ve dug deep enough into the vault to find some kicks you don’t remember seeing on Mr. Robinson’s feet. His footwear choices have been nothing short of legendary. Of course everyone remembers the Air Command Force, and the Air Force STS, but what else did Mr. Robinson rock in his neighborhood? Click here to take see what we came up with to pay tribute to this Hall of Famer. |

^^^ i hope they’re listening too. those were my all time favorite ball sneakers. the blue suede got all messed up, but that was also when i was 17 years old and really wasn’t taking care of my kicks the way i do now. it would be a very different story if i got my hands on those today. plus today i can afford a few pairs, where as back then McDonalds only paid enough to allow me 1 pair. lol.

Yo, fellas, remember that the Nike Unlimiteds were really sweet, but both the black/white/teal and the black/blue colours had weaknesses. The black/white/teals scuffed and creased very badly at the toe and the blacl/blues also creased badly at the toebox and the suede would get damaged easily. If Nike retroed them, the best material would be a Nubuck suede. Hope Nike is listening….

Hi KOC!i believe they were air strongs (lasot pic with divac trying to block the shot) not air too stongs. I had a black/bkue one with a yellow air sole…those were tight,.I agree with wayne brooks yeah, i had the black and blue air unlimiteds…the carnivore was a good shoe too although i believe it was for running?

nah man, I had those exact same Nike Air Unlimiteds and they were a dream to wear! Gorgeous, strapped up, visible air under the heel, anti-inversion support system, velcro strap at the side to tighten the sockliner, fantastic shoes yo, loved ‘em and cant wait for the Retro. It also had a design on the ankle strap like the Air Carnivores, like a face or sumthin. Also had the Nike Team Max, those were aight.
