Reebok Ex-O-Fit Hi “Basquiat”

Late last month, we showed you the Reebok Ex-O-Fit Hi Strap Fall 2009 Lineup, and many of you thought they would be one of the best Reebok releases this year. In addition, we have spotted another Reebok Ex-O-Fit Hi using a unique style and color. This particular design is the product of a collaboration between Reebok and artist Basquiat. It contains a predominately off-white base with zebra-like print designs throughout the base. Supposedly, this artwork is designed solely by Basquiat himself. Other features include the gum-like sole, the Reebok logo tag on the side panels and the Basquiat’s signature on the tongue label. What are your thoughts on this collaboration? |

^ Amen Nasa…I thought I was the only one here who knew…PS he was a GREAT artist for his time and these beat a** kicks do his name & his work NO JUSTICE!!!!. Looks like these got lined up w a black pilot marker or somethin..Man we used to do this kinda stuff to kids we didnt like? SAMO LIVES

Interesting how Basquiat has brought his signature WTF style to kicks, and ppl don’t even know. His style is really on the WTF tip… So if you thought that when you saw these, he succeeded once again. I dig the concept but like most of his work to me it’s more the mystery of ‘what was going through his head’ while designing these?! That’s what makes them so interesting. Google ‘Basquiat’ and check out his paintings, I guarantee you’ll be like WTF again… He has always been against the grain.
