Reports: LeBron James Crowned MVP

According to reports, LeBron James has been selected as the MVP of the 2008-09 season. Like Mike, LeBron is to receive MVP honors after wearing his sixth signature sneaker, but more importantly leading his team to the top of the Eastern Conference putting up 28.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.6 assists. LeBron, age 24, will become the second youngest to received MVP honors. Congrats LeBron. |

The reason they gave it to LeBron is that his apg was as much as his rpg and the Cavs has the best regular season record, Wade’s rpg doesn’t match up to LeBron’s and the Heat’s record doesn’t settle it with the Cav’s thats why LeBron got MVP. Cavs for ‘09 Champs!

ummm 1st of all NO MVP would ever ever lose n da 1st round. yea wade was great dis season but lebron had da best record n all dat stats just like last yr when i was kb24 vs lbj kobe had da best record and da stats. wade was a 5th seed. who lost n da1st round. n when he lost it was by like 20 pts n da 4 loses vs da hawks. no damn mvp would lose n da 1st round. wade needs sum more pieces. now mayb nxt yr if wade can get a #2 seed he mite finish 2nd n mvp race instead of 3rd. cuz LBJ is gone wit it again. and lbj is not my fav player kobe iz

The miami heat were the laughing stock of the nba last year and now they were in the 5th playoff spot out of 8 eastern spots. D-Wade actually has a ring, and le’bron has none and if he don’t get one this year his chances are slim. It’s a popularity contest and D-Wade got robbed.

I’m tired of you cats talking about D-wade. Let’s take a look at the stats - (per game)
Scoring: Wade - 30 / Lebron - 28
Assist: Wade - 7 / Lebron - 7
Steals: Wade - 2.1 / Lebron - 1.7
Blocks: Wade - 1.3 / Lebron 1.15
That’s cool. D-wade should of have won MVP right??? Stats are comparable but Wade edged out Lebron on most individual categories but barely………
Now, let’s look at what really matters when individual stats are this close.
Cavs record: 66 - 16 (39 - 2 at home) (27 - 14 on the road)
Heat record: 43 - 39 (28 -13 at home) (15 - 26 on the road)
*** Looks like Lebron takes that easily
Cavs win their Division, Heat are 3rd in their division - Lebron again
Cavs have best record in the East, Miami’s record is 5th. - Lebron again
Cavs have best record in the league, at this point does it even matter with Miami??? - Lebron again
Cavs sweep the Pistons in the 1st round, Heat are going fishing compliments of the Hawks??? The Hawks???? You’re MVP couldn’t even get pass the Hawks.
Don’t tell me about who Wade has around him. Lebron had no one around him the year he went to the finals. THE FINALS. Wade will never see the finals if he had a roster like Lebron did that year. Matter of fact, you are seeing exactly how far D-wade will get with this current roster.
Do you want to talk about HYPE????? Wade has been getting just as much. Commercials blah, blah, blah ESPN blah, blah, T- Mobile blah, blah

for all you who think wade deserves it cuz there’s no one around him, then how come lebron didn’t win it in 2007 when he took the cavs to the finals? who else was on that team ? big z, larry Hughes, Damon jones, boobie, drew gooden. there was nobody areound him. he did it all by himself and that’s why they got swept in the finals by the spurs.

Just because you lead the league in scoring does not mean that you get the MVP award… Thats all Wade did..
If thats the case, then Lebron should of won it last year, and Kobe two years in a row..
Didn’t Peja Stojakovic even lead the league in scoring? Well then, give it to him while we’re at it..
LeBron was even runner-up for DPOY, so you can’t say that he didn’t do as much as Wade did out on that court.

I don’t want to hear any MJ talk come out of anybody’s mouth. That dude is the best thing to ever touch a basketball and the best thing that ever happened to basketball. Look at the hall of famers and top 50 of all time that couldn’t get a ring because of him. Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller…… need I go on?
Kobe is the best in the league right now and last year when he won the MVP they didn’t even have the best record in the league. You tell me about a “POPULARITY CONTEST”.
To be honest, this is the first year Lebron has lived up to the so called “marketing” you clowns are talking about. MJ proved everything on the court first and that’s what separates him from the rest. Wade and Kobe included.
Lebron deserved the MVP hands down this year and if he wins the chip all people will have to shut up including all Laker fans. MJ would’ve never loss to the Celtics in that Finals. He would have found a way to win as he always did instead of crying like Kobe was last year. He might be more talented than MJ according to PHIL JACKSON but he will never have the heart or desire and the will to win like MJ had. That’s something that Phil Jackson, Bynum or Gasol can’t help him with or teach or coach.

It just sucks that its so political with espn hyping the hell out of him. Everything has to be compared to Kobe. NOBODY has more talent than Kobe. Only ONE person can judge that, the person that has coached both Kobe and Jordan: Phil Jackson (who has said in several accounts kobe is the most talented)
Lebron is a beast, he has a body that nobody can match up with, just be realistic with him and where he stands. Don’t fall victim to the marketing

Lebron is MVP and SHOULD have won it too. Anyone who says Wade deserves based on stats is an idiot. If you take the points, rebounds, and assists totals from the 2 and add them up, Lebron has 43.3, Wade has 42.7. That should be enough said there but no, his efficientcy is better too with Lebron leading the league with 30.9 and Wade ( behind Lebron AND chris paul) with 29.3. Wade is the truth too but come on, open your eyes.
There is no reason why Wade should’ve won it nuff said. Lebron is the bomb, so is Kobe.

Robbery…the NBA wants Lebron James to succeed so bad it’s not even funny. Dwade took a team from 15 wins to a 5th seed in the playoffs in one year…WITH NO HELP FROM ANYONE, PERIOD. He has better stats, and a ring. Not to mention he doesn’t have Lerbons size or supporting cast and was still able to do the things he did with only Udonis Haslem as any kind of credible player on that team.
Like someone already said, the MVP is an INDIVIDUAL award and team record should not be drawn into the picture. NBA should care more about what is right and not about the politics.
Lebron is a bad ass, no one can argue that…but Dwade should have got it this year…ESPECIALLY with Steve Nash winning it back to back 2 years in a row. BS.

Dwade came on strong during the second half of the season no doubt but it was LBJ’s year. Show the man some love. and for those who say DWade does more with less…..i dare u to name 3 players other than LeBron who were on the Cavs when he took them to the finals? Dwade had Posey, Shaq, GP, Haslem, J Will….all veteran ball players and 2 future HOF memebers.
