Nike Trainer 1 Debuted

Nike Trainer 1 Debuted

Inspired by the popular Nike Air Trainer worn by world-class athletes Bo Jackson and John McEnroe, who ignited the athletic training boom 20 years ago, the new Nike Trainer 1 was designed to provide today’s athletes with lightweight comfort and support as they prepare for competition.

“To create this shoe, we’ve taken the very best from our rich training heritage and combined it with new innovations and insights from today’s best athletes.” said Kris Aman, Vice President and General Manager of Nike Athletic Training.

The Nike Trainer 1 features Nike DiamondFLX, a patent-pending outsole system that provides flexibility and support through multi-directional movement – ideal for any training regimen. A lightweight upper, with midfoot and forefoot overlays connected to the lacing system, works with an inner Dynamic Fit sleeve to provide a secure, glove-like fit and the lock-down support a foot needs. The mid-sole also features a Nike Max Air unit in the heel to provide impact protection and comfort.

The Nike Trainer 1 will be available in the U.S. beginning July 1, 2009 with a suggested retail price of $90 USD.

  9. Sley

I like the ones on the left. What color are those like grey, white, black and fresh water.

  10. J-man #24

these things is butter there a must have back to school kicks for me

  11. dan

nice pacquiao shoes. hopefully they’ll produce more!

  12. wallyh

$90 for a reason… Forefoot free phylon foam+ max air heel.. The 2004 zoom trainer 1mid had zoom air in the heel and forefoot, along with a strap… It’s sad NIKE is totally ignoring that model to prop up its latest and greatest invention. That’s NIKE for ya. Throwing out a shoe as the “recreation” to the air trainer high, yet this was all done 5 years ago. Go figure.

  13. kkstaysfreshhh

    i like the ogs

  14. trainee

what’s the shoe on the left side? the one with the strap.

  15. spawn17zmc

  18. kevin

Must get these. Feels good getting a new performance shoe that will be a future classic in future years instead of getting the same old retros.

  41. JUMPMANAHOLIC

I wish they had the strap. I would’ve copped with out blinking but I’m looking for the OG Air Trainer 1s

  42. MontanaCaiRo

What a nice simplistic (and affordable) sneaker. This will go nice with cargo shorts and V-neck tee or a polo shirt of various “brandage”, lol… Thumbs up, Nike

  43. kwame

it’s obvious to me that nike is just above all competition right now…

  44. Biggins

I love them and this is exactly the direction that Nike should be going in…

  45. JSole

HOOOOOOLLYYYYYYYY SHIIIIIOOOOTTT!!! DES IS HOT AND I WILL DEFINATELY BE USIN DA 30% WHEN DES DROP!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

  46. BillCollektr

These pix actually wash out the color of this colorway too…they pop a lot more in other pix I’ve seen of them…and the silver on the upper is really shiny compared to whats shown. These are hot….perfect with some shorts on a hot summer day….

  47. Wayne Brooks

Wish it had the velcro strap though, that would’ve made it game -set-match.

  48. (not a sneakerhead)

they are okay i guess i really cant see wearing them for casual purposes

  49. mache custom kicks

Looks like I have to get some new gym shoes :)
