This year Airwalk will celebrate twenty years of the 540 silhouette with some new colorways. The classic skate shoe is being reworked in premium materials to celebrate the anniversary. The Airwalk Fall 2009 Preview gives us a look at not only the 540, but a number of other silhouettes as well. The Velocity, Fahrenheit, Revert, Vic Velcro, and Canvas Hi will all see new life this coming fall. So are these only going to be available at Payless? Or will they be available online as well?

Hey, since u all know so much about Airwalks im about to pull my hair out trying to find out where i can buy some older style airwalks that were made in about 1998. they were they regular black ones that were not high top. just the regular skate shoes…..please help me. thanks

i love these shoes!! but. i dont expect any “new school skaters” to appreciate them..why would they? i dont like bahne or g&s skateboards form the 70’s.. not my era.. these shoes are 80’s baby and it didnt get any better..wearin these was like a rockin a pair of lakais back in 86.i want those vic’s …bads shoes for skating vert with the lace savers..so rad. =)

I still have the red sparkly Jim shoes and the Black leather Jim shoes original in box sitting in my closet right now. Those were the best shoes back in the day. Just cleaning out the garage I found my first pair of GTO’s in Black suede. They are all beat up but still super comfy.

if you a sneaker head you must know about Airwalks that’s sneakers 101 i would get a pair just for the sake they are classics. I’m a child of the 80’s , i admit vans were better in my opinion.

I have a pair of airwalk prototype bruisers in my collection and honestly I get more positive reaction from them than any other pair I own and I have some splash.

Damn, I wanted a pair of these soooooo bad back in the day! It’s rad to see a re-issue. Love it! Such a classic and groundbreaking shoe for sure! Just because your shoes don’t cost $200-$400 and didn’t come from a boutique doesn’t mean they’re not rad.

i used to love airwalk when i was a kid, but i gotta say im not feeling any of those.
the green and blue would be hot without the strap. same with the prototypes

the bottom ones were pretty bad back then…so were the 540s. not bad.

its obvious you all don’t know anything about airwalks so let me hit you with the bass .Airwalks used to be a huge brand a long time ago around the 80s they had many a Legendary Skater , Hawk, Marino , Karim Kambpell used to rock them in hs am days. this shoes coming back is significant because they paved the way for Nike Sb , and Supra without these shoes their would be no what the dunks , blue lobsters, or anything else. no skytops or nothing espicially does crazy fluorscent colorways. because they were the first ones using crazy materials and colorways , so before any of you “shoeheads ” start saying these are payless shoes remeber you all are your sbs and supras to thes guys. I am definitely copping a few pairs so pay homage . PS Nick post some pickup spots man come on this is a prety big thing
