Dwyane Wade Signs with Jordan Brand

One of the ongoing stories of this past basketball season was Dwyane Wade’s refusal to wear the Converse Wade IV for reasons we have yet to find out. However, we have just received news that more than likely goes hand in hand with the aforementioned mystery; Dwyane Wade has just signed to Jordan Brand. Dwyane Wade now joins the Jordan Brand team which already includes some of his Olympic teammates such as Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul. It seems like he’s more than delighted to be a part of the team to say the least. “I have enormous respect for this brand and all that it stands for,” said Dwyane Wade. I’m humbled to be a part of the Team Jordan family and I’m looking forward to a great future.” We should have known this was coming seeing that we spotted Wade at a Miami Heat fan promotion event prior to the playoffs in the Air Jordan 4. Now, only time will tell if/when Jordan Brand will bless Wade with a top-tier signature sneaker. “As the Jordan franchise approaches its silver anniversary, Dwyane will become a pinnacle member of the Jordan roster poised to help lead the Brand for years to come,” Michael Jordan said. JB has always been garbage. Wade’s converse were always garbage too. The eddie jones were the best JB I remember. the answer has been garbage forever as well. That’s why I stick with classics. AJ 15 <= are good shoes to stick with

i wonder what was the actual reason he refused to wear his signature Converse shoe. i tell ya though, i’ve passed his converses many times in the store and they look worse every time i see them. nothing appealing about them at all. can’t wait to see what Jordan Brand comes up with for him, i know they do a pretty good job with Melo and CP3.

i dont think its a bad move but, i would prefer if he created his own legacy. by choosing JB hes going to be under someones shadow. I wouldve said to Converse,, “make me some BAD *SS shoes or im leaving” bcuz D was converse’s last hope to rebuild, Kirk Hinrich sure the hell wont help!

As much as I love Jordan and Wade, i disagree on this…Wade’s at the top of his game right now…he deserves his own shoe line with Nike (hopefully) so Kobe and Bron aren’t the only ones with the sigs…Melo and CP are already with JB and i think JB alone, even without the players in it can stand in itself (with the legion of Jordan heads)…i think Wade should start his own legacy as to what Kobe did when he jumped fromAdidas to Nike…

Well, doubt it. Chuck Taylors have been a staple and aren’t going anywhere. Plus, I’m pretty sure they’re moving some of their retro silhouettes. (i.e. “Weapons”) However, can’t say I’m surprised Wade traded up for the “Jumpman” from the “Star”. Definitely interested in seeing his signature kicks. Whoever designed his shoes for Converse should be beaten with a wet sack of bricks. Maybe they performed well (wouldn’t know), but abhorrent design.
So, if Nike owns Converse, does that mean Wade was promoted from the mail room to a corner office for all his hard work? *lol*

I was thinking the same thing, but you just beat me to it here.
Perhaps D-Wade is the new Air Jordan shoe “wearer” if you will, he might possibly wear the Jordan 2010 first then anyone else, I could see him overshadowing Ray Allen too.
I always saw Ray Allen wearing the newest and lates Js, but D-Wade could be taking his place.
After seeing the pic of D-Wade over the Jordan Logo, that’s just the feeling that I got…! Anyone agree with me…? D-Wade will be the next MJ… shoe wearer that is.

That’s too bad for Converse, they had a great player, in Wade and several others, to represent them. Great move for Jordan Brand though. I hope the focus will return to performance, authenticity, innovation and cutting edge. It would be a tragedy to see Wade in a Fusion .5 + Retro’izike 60+ Rings or anything as half-baked.
Enough with the mashups, re-retro retro retros, remix, refresh, fusions, etc. D’Wade, demand the best and lead the way for the future classics.

if anybody needed to be on the jb roster its dwayne wade. if you watch him his style and the way he plays reminds many old jordan fans of jordan himself, so it was only fitting that he be a part of the team. and the converses that he use to wear were ugly as hell.

My homie told me this morning and I’ve been on Cloud 9 ever since, not the biggest Wade fan but I know he’s an unrivaled talent for the Jordan Brand and he deserves WAAAY much better then the mediocre kicks Converse has been shelling out.
