Livestrong x Futura x Nike Dunks in Tour de France
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Jul 27, 2009 Though Lance was unable to pull a come from behind victory in the last stage of the Tour de France, he still made it to the podium taking third place. For the celebratory ride into Paris, Lance wore the Livestrong x Futura x Nike Sportswear Dunk High “FLOM” that had heads at home scrambling two weekends ago. Lance’s cycling team Astana won the team competition in the 2009 Tour de France and each team member took the podium wearing the Dunks as well.

Not a hater, and not brain dead either. I wasn’t questioning why he had to wear his own line. But there are quite a few other kicks in the LIVESTRONG series that would look better with cycling gear and a bicycle, IMHO. Like the LunaRacer or the other Lunar foam collab he did. Or the Footscapes. Or even the Air Maxes.
Call me stupid, but I still think what’s essentially a basketball high top does not mix with cycling, so to show up for THE cycling award ceremony in them…

Very nice shoes, they look much, much, much better in person.

You must mean the bike designed by the most famous contemporary artist in the world which is decorated with the bodies of real butterflies and estimated to fetch more than one million dollars when it is auctioned off in October to raise money for the worldwide fight against cancer.
Probably bought it at Walmart right? Where are the tassels?

iv worn my floms a good 3 times.
i also have 3 livestrong zoom moire’s, the zoom starts, air pegasus’,and just got home from buying the dunk trainers. i also got mad shirts and hoodies.
i cycle every august in philly at the livestrong challenge.

Why wouldn’t Lance wear a shoe from his very own line? The whole team wearing the shoe is a show of support for Lance and the quest to raise awareness for LIVESTRONG and the fight against CANCER. Why not wear the best shoe from the LIVESTRONG collection? Last time I checked it’s pretty tough to walk around in cycling shoes, some of which have clips on the bottom.

Sickening that folks who won’t even wear these and the other Livestrong shoes snatched them up and are reselling them. Bit of a pisser for those of us cancer folk that would actually wear them to further the public view / knowledge of Livestrong. Only good news is at least the coin from the original purpose went to Livestrong.
