Staple Design x Airwalk Jim Shoe

Staple Design x Airwalk Jim Shoe

One of the classics being brought to life by the Staple Design x Airwalk collaboration is the Jim Shoe.

The Staple Design x Airwalk Jim Shoe is a silhouette that some of the old schoolers will instantly recognize from the late 80’s/early 90’s. This white colorway features light grey accents, and comes with both white and grey laces. In addition, the box, tongue tag, and the shoes themselves, share the Staple Design x Airwalk branding.

You can relive some of your youth, by picking up a pair, as these will be available soon at Payless Shoe Stores for $39.99.

They are already out in some stores and with the exception of the Gambit, will be out nationwide by Aug 11. I am working with the team on this collaborating and have been pretty excited about it. Got my pair last week, and may cop for another design.

  3. KEvin

  4. greenmaker24

    boring

  5. Bryon

Weezy, you’re saying ’sell-out’, but this is not the music business. All shoes are sold somewhere. Who the hell cares where they are sold? Does it actually matter? if so, please let us know why…I am curious.

  6. SimpleThingz21

Weezy F-why do you say sell out?

Feet 1st- learn to read. These ARE releasing at Payless!

  7. D3LL

    Where’s the piegon colorway??

  8. RSX

    not feeling em

  9. WeezyF

if i worked for nyc sanitation and my shoes somehow got lost and my feet were bleeding i still WOULD NEVER BUY THESE. major sell out. major.

  10. d.knott01(detroit fresh)

not familiar with Airwalk at all. Just know that the suburban kids loved them in the 90’s. i appreciate the concept but honestly cannot say i am feeling these. maybe a different colorway will spark my interest. kudos to staple for making such a bold move though.

  11. Feet 1st

nah, these look like they could be found at payless. Them brown high top ones posted recently are nice though, that is what i am waiting for.

  12. Jonathan

    These are nice.

also, besides the tennis ball and basketball joints, I know nearly nothing about “the Jim shoes”, could someone fill me in on what makes this Staple model different from any of the original ones? I mean besides the little tag and the hang tag haha?

  14. mints

kurtbert: the Jim shoe always had a lowercase @ logo. I wonder if Staple is going to bring back the old habit of naming the shoes. I remember most of the airwalks until the mid 90s had names instead of just being a colorway. The Jim series all had a name to go with a famous Jim: Kirk and Hendrix are the only ones I remember were out back then, but maybe if I dig through my attic I can find ancient skate catalogs with more info.

I for one would be excited if they brought back a really bad idea from back then that I never managed to pick up: The Airwalk Bowling Shoe

These are hot. I’d cop these for sure. Man, I never thought I’s be looking at airwalks this way. This is the breath of fresh air they needed to make it happen for them. Great job

  17. Steevo561

Coppin wore these senior year and they are great to skate in

  18. Zeebling02

Not my typa shoe but look fresh on dudes feet I’ll Neva copp em tho

  19. contra

when will payless have these? im actually feeling the throwback skater shoe, i used to rock the airwalks about 10 years ago hah

  20. kurtbert

Yea Matt, this Staple rendition of the Jim Shoes would look SOO MUCH doper IMO in the tennis colorway. I love this new design of the “@” that is on the side rather than the old school airwalk “A”. That’s just me though.

  21. mints

I’m going to go out of my way to pick these up. I loved the Jim shoe in middle school and it’s nice to see a designer lend a hand to a company trying to pick itself back up.

  22. Matt Halfhill

I am sure that Airwalk and Staple already know, but if the Jim Shoes come in the tennis ball or basketball colorways, I am stacking up 2 or 3 pairs of each.

  23. NDP

I haaaaate all white kicks…but if I could get the black nubuck Carrot Top joints I had in ‘97 I’d be hyped as hell!

  24. kurtbert

is it bad to say I am feeling these? I think not! Anyone who hates on these things are just hating to HATE. yea, they’ll be sold in payless, but damn, why not get a nice pair of white kicks to where wherever and whenever, look fresh, and not give a F if they get scuffed?
