Air Jordan 2 + Air Jordan 3 Slam Dunk Pack

Rumors about upcoming retro Air Jordans is nothing new, but neither is the rumor of a “Slam Dunk Pack”. Dating back to 2008 there were rumors that there would not be a Jordan 8/15 CDP since the two were both retroed only months before in the final months of 2007. The idea was simple, but sounded so great to collectors. A DMP consisting of the two shoes that Michael Jordan wore while winning his two Slam Dunk Contests - Air Jordan 2 and Air Jordan 3.
In Seattle for the 1987 Dunk Contest Michael Jordan wore the White/Black-Red Air Jordan II. The following year, Michael Jordan wore the White/Black-Cement Air Jordan IIIs when he faced off against Dominique Wilkins in the finals. On the final dunk Dominique scored a 45 leaving a little bit of room for MJ to take the title. Sure enough, in amazing form, Michael Jordan did it with a 50 beating Wilkins and taking back to back Slam Dunk titles.
Back to the sneakers, this latest rumor started on a Korean sneaker blog. We have yet to confirm from any of our credible Jordan sources whether or not this is true, but we do know that Jordan Brand has many great things planned for the 25th anniversary in 2010. Hypothetically, if there was a Slam Dunk Pack to come out with a $310 would you purchase or pass?

Depends… I’m holding 3 pairs of III’s (2 with Nike Air on the back in Black/Cement & White/Cement). My only issue is the yellowing soles on my blacks… but I’m not high on the II’s… Burned out on re-releases of ish I already have!

Jb wouldn’t do that. They don’t care about true jheads. They wanna sell shoes and make money. So far all these lil kids have been buying almost all the shoes they market. If Jb would increase the prices of shoes and just release retros, hype for these shoes would hit an all time big. This would probably be a must-have for me, two of the greatest designs/colorways…duh.
However…be that as it may…I think JB needs to come through on this one and accomplish two things:
1. Put the Nike Air back on the heel of the III
2. Re-release an EXACT replica of the AJ II 1994 retro, which was so much closer to the OG than the 2004 release was.
Getting back to the “Nike-on-heel” contention…Even the Air Jordan II CDP retro had “Nike” on the heel….can’t they make things right and put that shiz back on both pairs.

I hope the QC on these are better than before, and rubber on the back of the III’s dont yellow like they did on the mocha III’s. Either way, still a definate purchase. Looks like JB is tryna go hard for 2010.

Jordan brand needs to reduce the amount of retro Jordans they are releasing and focus on making their latest shoes look better. Releasing the retros so much is diminishing the value. Jordan’s wouldn’t be what they were if they were as available as af1’s. This is what they should do.
1. Destroy the fusions….they are junk
2. Re-release retros, but do it in a small amount…and not so often
3. Get some new people in the lab to design new jordans….
4. Listen to true sneaker heads when it comes to what retros to release.

I really am angry at nicekicks. I rushed on over here because I thought this was release info. Instead it’s just a rumor. Second time this week something like this has happened. The first time was the “spacejams released early” post. Only to find out it was just a link to an eBay auction. Boo you nicekicks.
