The 1980’s were owned by the Lakers and Celtics. Between 1980 and 1989, either or both of the Celtic and Lakers played in every NBA Finals. Just as that chapter was coming to a close, Michael Jordan and the Bulls were writing their chapter in the history of the game. In June of 1991, MJ and the Bulls made their first appearance in the NBA Finals against Magic and the Lakers. The Bulls narrowly lost the first game of the series, but went on a rampage winning the next four games closing out the series in front of an LA crowd at the Forum. As we celebrate next month’s enshrinement of Michael Jordan into the Basketball Hall of Fame as well as the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Air Jordan series, many will remember the Air Jordan 6 for being the shoes Michael Jordan wore while winning his first of 6 NBA Championships. The Air Jordan 6 will return in a Black/Varsity Red colorway in January of 2010, but a few pairs are available early at MarqueeSole for $300. |

I heard these (Varsity Red 6’s) were coming out in December and the actual Infrared 6’s are coming out in 2010. Don’t know how true it is though.

JB is going to release retros next year with the Nike Air/Swoosh on the back, but they’re going to do it at a premium price point, because they read the blogs and want to piss off their customers even more? After careful consideration, I must say I will cop a pair, I know NIKE AIR will never come back, and maybe that’s a good thing, cuz it keeps the OGs and RETROS special.
But anyone who grew up watching MJ play, knows exactly how I feel. NIKE AIR on Jordans were the S*it…! Now every Jordan shoe with a JUMPMAN doesn’t make me jump for them, but that’s just me.

To “Jordanhead83″, I doubt these will sell better than the Spacejams…but I guess we’ll see…I’m sure both will sell well. And thanks for the “lying idiot” remark. I tried to make sense of the rest of your comment/paragraph…but stopped after the first few lines & incomplete phrases.
And…if you are a serious Jordan collector…you know that the 2000 Infareds are completely & totally wearable if they have been stored correctly (unlike, for example…a pair of ‘99 IV retro’s with a cloudy bubble of death)…so you’re wrong when you say that retros from 2001-2005 fall apart…try doing some research…yours might last longer if taken care of.
To be honest with you…I’m not going to spend the money on these. I don’t like the dark air bubble and I don’t like the jumpman…but thats just one dudes opinion…ain’t it a great country?

biggins you sound like a lying idiot,even the people who have a pair of ds 2000 retro are going to get these,let me ask you this,you think you can wear them old shoes for 4-5months straight without them falling apart,i have a few different retro jordans from 01-05,i wore a pair not to long ago,and they look like they were going to give up,i can wear them accasionally,but not every day,plus im skinny with not that much weight on me,so everybody that is complaining are straight up liers,yall are going to cop just like everybody else,i wear all of my shoes,except the few i ds,and im mad that i ds them cause there not really wearable for everyday wearing like brand new ones,so give up all the little arguments about whats so different about these shoes,you know,like i know,these arent going to last even a couple of hours on shelves,they will be gone in like 20-30 minutes,people are going to cop multiple pairs of these,so whether you like the red or not,or nike this or notbottom line is that these are going to be a huge release for JB,even older people are going to want these.

I’m not really a Jordan person but people please……JB isn’t throwing “NIKE AIR” on the back of the shoe anytime soon. As a matter of fact the company may never do it again unless Tinker is running the entire operation which will most likely never happen since he’s already rich as hell. the retro carmines were really good,i passed on those,but i shouldnt,cause one of my friends copped,and i seen them up close,and i was saying inside my head for weaks,dumb-a##,over and over,cause i didnt think there going to be good,i just didnt like the suede material compared to the og carmines that just all leather,but they were straight though,ive missed so many retro 6,s,but not these,im getting 3pairs no matter the circumstances on this release,just like i did the black/metallic 5,s,there suppose to drop some 3,s, or 4,s, with nike air in the back for 2010,thats what there saying on different forums,i dont believe that,but its a big possibilty though,if they do that,it will get way harder to get them,cause any and everybody will be trying to get those,2010 is looking real good for JB,they must have somebody looking and watching at what people are saying online or something,i havent seen this much heat drop in a one year in a longtime,really never,dont forget about the chicago 10 rumors for 2010 also,things is looking good for 2010.

The red is off; jumpman instead if NIKE AIR; the “icy sole” looks cheap. Atleast I still have the 00 retro’s. Better quality.

i dont see whats all the complaining is about,my dad bought them[black/infrared] for me when they first dropped,i hve pictures of me wearing them when i was just a little kid,they were the only shoes i wore,even when the 7,s, dropped,they had nothing on these[6,s] or the 5,s,i wore the 6,s,damn near everyday for like 3 or 4 years,they were falling apart ad i still loved them like they were brand new,that being said,the majority of these brand new sneakerheads werent alive and didnt experiance the real feeling of being the very few in there neighborhood who could afford it in the 80,s,say what you wanna say,but every kid in 85-93 wasnt getting jordans like they are nowadays,parents couldnt see paying these same prices way back then like the do now,ive been waiting on these for years,i missed the retro twice[black/infrared]&[11&6pack black/gold],so this is going to make my life way better than what it is,real good 1980,s memories,all of yall are complaining about nike air/and the materials,from somebody who had the og,s,this is not bad at all my sneakerheads,it could be way worser from what ive seen recently from jordan brand,the only thing i dont like is the newly black painted air pockets,im copping 3 pairs of these,thats why im passing on the space jams,i heard Jb is releasing the 11,s in 2010 in white black og colorwaydont know if its true or not,but im passing on alot of shoes just for this release,so if a og head loves these,why are you youngn,s complaining like you were really a teenageror grown up when these dropped the first time,oh by the way,im not the only og sneakerhead waiting on these,theres alot of older people who going to battle these youngns for these,this shoe is like the 3,4,5,it means way more to us than it does for some little teenager who bought a retro for way to high prices on them and show them and then show them on youtube like he was alive 91,if he was,he was only 1 or 2 and didnt know what soul2soul was,or what mc hammer was,or what clear canadian water was,or what clear pepsi was,thanks JB,youve answered my prayers,now all you youngns go sweat the space jams so i wont have a problem buying these!

for the fans sake! These were my all time favorite shoes! I wore these til they had holes in the sole on both shoes! I remember putting cardboard inside of them to keep my socks from having matchins holes! My mom snuck in my room one day and got rid of them cuz they were the only shoes I would wear! I miss my 6’s!

how do i know you say?
well simple. for one, there is no visible hair.
two, the TPR injected molding on the collar could NOT be pressed onto suede without visible markings.
meaning, the length of suede would cause this area to be different everytime. not something JB would pass through sample phase.
once you guys actually get these, please let me know.
also, get the right color code, this is the 3rd time thats it’s been labeled as a different variation of red.
