Louis Vuitton takes off New Balance 574

Louis Vuitton x New Balance 574For the past several years Louis Vuitton has made big strides in the men’s footwear market, especially with creating luxury sneakers.  The brand received major buzz in the fashion, music, and sneaker industries this year as they announced their partnership with Kanye West to create a series of limited silhouettes.

With the momentum of this major collaboration one would expect to see more great things to come from the LV camp.  Unfortunately, when we caught a glimpse of this fall’s lineup, we saw a few too many familiar silhouettes made famous by other companies.  The one that caught our attention the most was a take off on the New Balance 574.  Besides minute changes such as toebox details and added metal eyelets the shoes are virtually identical.  Louis Vuitton works with some of the biggest and brightest in the fashion industry, partnering with designers like Marc Jacobs and Takashi Murakami.  That said, one would expect a higher commitment from LV to imparting freshness to their upcoming collection while still demanding such prices.  No word yet on the pricing of these Louis Vuitton sneakers, but it would be safe to assume that they carry a tag that is 10 fold that of the 574.

  5. obatron1 aka Ed-Ski

those grey new bally’s are fresh! i have a tan pair…the 574 is a great shoe.

  6. NewJerseyGiant

This is ridiculous. There will be a few hypebeasts that will buy the Louis Vuitton sneakers to say “I have Louis Vuitton’s on my feet and I’m better than you.” When they could have saved $200 and got the same New Balance for $65-70 From Footlocker and Finish Line instead of paying $275-up for those ugly ass things.

  7. AirKang

LV rips from NB and Gucci rips from air max 1…wow, they call themselves luxurious fashion brands…? lol

  8. MJSF

LV wannabe NB are a bad look.

  12. am95connoisseur

copped the 574 in this colorway for $40 a couple of weeks ago… threw some navy blue laces in em and rock them hard with the Yankee away jersey…… I personally love them…. LV…. just get kanye to design the rest of your kicks.. lol

  13. joe the plummer

Not sure why people trip of the price of Louis Vuitton shoes. They are for people that can afford them. Not for u people that have to save up their monthly checks just to buy em. $1000 shoes to these people are like $100 shoes to u. If u don’t like em then dont buy em. Just dont hate cause ur a broke…….B i t c h!

  14. LikeJordan45

    I’m disgusted.

  15. Madscientist

the new balance looks way more better than those lv,s,and whats really funny about it is that some super rich dummies will still pay anything from $800to$1500 for these crappy looking shoes, just like the kanye lv,s,kanye,s, were better, but the only thing i didnt like was that they shouldve had waymore colorways for the hightop strap version and they shouldve made the bottom and straps a little bit thinner than what they made it,and it wouldve been way better than what they came out to be,i was very disapointed with that shoe,if your going to charge outrageuos prices, then at least make something thats stylish,so even people that arent rich would think about getting it,but i think lv knows that if there name is on it that it doesnt matter cause they have loyal followers that will by dudu from them if they make a lv mark in it.

  18. Brealz

Lol @ ppl thinkin this is a colab
    damm, ignorance is bliss
& an Easy pass on this, big F by LV 4 the classic bite

  19. jg

“how come no one calls out ALIFE for jaking the exact same model too?”

I think that people just expect more from LV, being a long-established high fashion brand known for innovation. ALIFE, Bape, Greedy Genius etc. pretty much got known for imitating athletic shoe styles using premium craftmanship and materials. People aren’t bothered by fart jokes in MAD Magazine, but they would be bothered by fart jokes in the New Yorker. That analogy makes a lot less sense after I’ve written it out.

  20. Jsnacks

Wow, that’s a shame. LV has to bite off of other companies just to come up with ideas.

  21. muRDer4 Shoes

    theSe R the 0nLy paIr oF nb’z I woULD ACTUALLY weAr…they get 4 stars ????

  22. richboy

  23. Feet 1st

you would think that they held themselves to a higher standard.

  24. Tinkun

LV is a mess. Pass on these fugly joints.

  25. Mj

  26. jroach

  32. sneakerfreakbill

    First they copy reebok
    then they copy New Balance….

    NIKE PREPAIR!

  33. hyestylekid

It kinda looks like a weak saucony or something else i wouldnt wear but definitely not original

  34. Super X

I don’t know about it being a copy of the New Balance 574.. looks more like the Nike Air Pegasus, especially around the sole.

  35. hyestylekid

Atleast if ur gonna bite so hard from another company do one of ther top designs if u still rock 574 u should kill urself and lv just did it to themselves take notes

  36. Darryl

    These are weak.

  37. d.knott01(detroit fresh)

New Balance all day. LV please stay in your lane. lol @ ^^^thanks 2 JB. im always broke^^^”docker’s shorts and union bay polo’s” hilarious.

  38. J

LV will NEVER take the place of New Balance 574 shoes

  39. Kya

Even though i’m feeling their concept, LVs are too pricey for me. Wonder how much these will go for…

  40. ramatut4001

NIce i would actually cop , sounds like a great collaboration

NOT A COLLABO! Just a replica

  42. E-man

LV sneakers. Huuuu? Naaa. I’ll stick to NB 4 sure.

  43. faraz69

this is almost identical to the NBs. The Mid sole looks like they literally went into the NB factory and stole them.
anyone who buys this shoe rather than buying the NB version is : 1. Retarted 2. A hypebeast
why pay 5x the amount for a shoe that looks the same just without the N logo.

    Shame on Louis V

  44. Jaze

ITS NOT A COLLABORATION YOU ILLITERATE F*CKS!!

  45. T

    @ HDkelz and Dame

I’m not usually one for calling comments out but these are one of the dumbest comments i’ve ever read. wow.

  46. freshkicks freshlife

well even tho it looks like a copycat to us I bet in a courtroom NB couldnt without a doubt convince a judge that LV copied them… Too much litagation too much paperwork to dig thru. What will happen is LV will admit no guilt and probably some hush money will be given to NB to drop the case……Hypothetically speaking

  47. 666

how come no one calls out ALIFE for jaking the exact same model too?

this is the sign of the times. designers are getting lazier and not putting out anything interesting.

  48. FBGM

Appalling what a cheap rip off.

  49. Ysr

You expected more? I didn’t after the yezzy LVs

  50. jonelone

lol at the second post. you’d think LV would have enough people on their design team to not copy off of NB… but i guess its kind of flattering to be imitated by LV… anyway i love the 574’s and these shoes are bound to be wwwaaaayyy overpriced, so noone but c-list stars are going to wear em anyway. good job LV, very innovative.

  51. thanks 2 JB. im always broke

Wut wud u rock wit these? Some dockers shorts and a union bay polo? Get these poorly designed 50+edition louis outta here mannn. Put em on a clearance rack somewhere asap. These joints r bogus. Lol

  52. Dame

Loving them both I want them so bad

  53. Nealp86

Sorry but this is just stupid! New balance is suppose to be a affordable shoe for people. I drop serious money on shoes but this is a bad move

  54. Godsfav

Lv’s are insane I own 5 pair and everyone of then get a lot of love… Some off the wall comments like bowling shoes and such show a lack of ppl’s couture.. This a weak calloboration but lv saves the best for LV!

  55. Soulie17

Rediculous! Anyone who buys the Louis Vuitton ones instead of the new balance once is an idiot blinded by greed arrogance and a fancy lable

  56. sneakFREAK

It would help for you kids to read every once in a blue moon.

This is a wack move by LV if you ask me. First off, the NB 574 isn’t the greatest sneaker. Second, how can LV create such a great line of shoes with Kanye, but then half ass it with these? Last, like the article says, I am sure they will be at least 10x the price of the 574s.

  57. klm1015

not a collaboration they stole the design. and it was dumb of them because new balances are ugly

  58. alb1

i like the new balance more.

  59. HDkelz

NIce i would actually cop , sounds like a great collaboration

  60. gameface1326

    Kanye’s suck, LV suck
