“McFly” Nike Hypermax Cancelled

As soon as we posted the Tennis Ball Hypermaxs many of your started asking about if the “McFly” Nike Hypermax would make its way to the US as well. We regret to inform you that we have recevied word from a few credible sources that the “McFly” Nike Hypermax has been cancelled and will not release to the US.
While no official word has been released by either Nike or Universal Studios, what we have heard is that the movie studio was not fond of the shoes likeness to their character’s sneakers worn in Back to the Future II. Some may recall that the “McFly” Nike Hyperdunk was an official collaboration between Universal and Nike, but apparently the Hypermax and Hyperdunk low were unofficial inspirations.
One can only hope that this rumored dispute does not get in the way of the Marty McFly’s releasing in their true form. 2015 is only a few years away!
UPDATE: There are a few sizes left of the McFly Hypermax on eBay.

I’m still mad. I think someone dropped the ball on this, either Universal Studios or Nike. I am trying hard to find a pair, but I really can’t spend upwards of $500 for sneakers. Plus it’s almost impossible for me to find my size.

Kichijoji Skit in Tokyo has had a full size run of these for over a month now…..same goes with the Yellow Tennis Balls…….price wasn’t too bad either……..

If they don’t release stateside, I can kiss a size 13 goodbye. There was a legitimate source selling the Tennis Ball NFW Asian release, but it stopped at size 11.
If there happens to be some size 13’s of the Hypermax McFly’s lingering, they’ll be too expensive to cop for anyone who isn’t a rapper or actor anyway.

Dopeasaurus there was a mockup of McFly Hyperdunk lows shown off in the trade books a few months ago for a spring 2010 release.
It sucks that these aren’t getting released (in that the ones that did get shipped for Asia are going to go for way more than even the Hyperdunks now)
Ah well I guess I’ll just have to settle for my Tre AD McFlys
