Nice Kicks x Asics Gel Lyte III
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Aug 5, 2009 For months we have dropped hints, sneak peeks, and shown a few blurred images, but at last we are proud to introduce our first sneaker collaboriation - the Nice Kicks x Asics Gel Lyte III. This shoe is part of a three shoe series, the “Trilogy Project”, curated by Ronnie Fieg for David Z.
Though color choice was important for us, the material selections took a very high priority. From front the back, the shoe features a nubuck toe cap, perforated pig skin toe box and side panels, patent leather striped overlaying 3M reflective material, finishing off with ballistic mesh on the tongue and ankle collar. Limited to 250 pairs, the Nice Kicks x Asics Gel Lyte III will be available in October instore and online at DavidZ.com for $105. Click here to see more photos of the shoes. |

anyway, very nice job on materials and composition. although i agree with papercraft way up top, a mesh toebox would have been nice. it helps my toes breathe and fights the funk. meh, i’d still buy them.

the materials, the sick colorway and the price are all things we appreciate greatly as customers and as fans of nicekicks. but the question begs to be asked, what’s up with the lack of availability? i mean, i’m a true fan of your site and the shoe but limiting them to 250 pairs pretty much guarantees i wont have a pair on my feet when they come out.

I am just trying to inform kids on the fact that there are great sneakers beyond nike and jb man , I am nike diehard myself but I always knew that nike is not best company in the world for sneakers just the heaviest hand out . Honestly and truly their is no such things as a being a sneakerhead and the shoe game those names are insults to your self creating labels and loyalty to brands that don’t care about what they put out anymore Nike is a great brand but honestly do we need half the sneakers they make to be limited at all now , think about that.

I hate to do this to a very good post but oh well. 1. Nike is overrated now it is not the end all be all of sneakers .
2. You need to have diversity in collecting I mean who wants to end up with a whole collection full of Jordans that creates a bland , and predictable collection .
3. Asics have always made great collabos they rarely make a crappy collabo
4. Jordan Brand is not the end all be all of shoes if you think it is man find a new hobby because you will waste thousands of dollars on a company that does not really care about there customers at all.
5. A great collabo is defined by the those they are creating the shoe not by the brand Look at all the shoes supreme and Staple makes they are not as powerful as they used to be .
6. Dunks are not always a greatt shoe to use as a canvas because everybody uses it therefore it degrades the value of the shoe and the company that is featured on the collabo.
