Nike Hyperize - A Detailed Look
Posted by Matt Halfhill | Aug 13, 2009 Nike set the new standards for basketball footwear last year with the introduction of the Nike Hyperdunk. Featuring the new Lunar Lite cushioning and Nike Flywire Technology, the Nike Hyperdunk was the lightest basketball shoe ever created. Worn by the world’s best in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and all season long at the college level and the NBA, the Hyperdunk proved that it was worth the hype.
Never settling for success, Nike has a followup to the Hyperdunk that features improvements in virtually every aspect of the shoe. Weighing in at only 13.0 ounces, the Nike Hyperize feels weightless on your foot. The sole’s herringbone tread and pivot point gives you the greatest traction on the court and ability to make quick cuts on the court. Your feet are well protected with a full lenth Phylon midsole, Lunar Lite cushioning in the midsole, and Nike Zoom Air in the heel. An injected midfoot shank gives you the stability you command and the protection you need. On the upper the shoe features Nike Flywire Technology that gives ultimate lock down support along with improved breathability. A TPU heel cup places the heart of your ankles in a well protected zone providing more prevention of injury. The Nike Hyperize is available now at Foot Locker stores nationwide. Don’t criticize…… HYPERIZE!!!
Aug 14, 2009 at 7:57 am
Definitely going to be the best basketball shoe of the year IMO. The reason I like these better than the hypermax is because when I ball it takes about a month till I end up breaking through the air pocket of shoes. These look like they will hold up good on the concrete. Its like when I was younger and balled in the Jordan VIII’s once I wore the shoe down and hit the plastic on the sole I was slipping all over the place, couldn’t get any traction.

I need to get these
Aug 14, 2009 at 3:45 am
nice and clean! def. copped!
Aug 14, 2009 at 3:38 am
If MJ wouldve had these hi-tec mugs in his posesion, while in his prime….. woaah he would’ve scored atleast 50 pts every game and been banned from the NBA for being excessively f***ing raw real talk!

I am coppin the sydney deans later today….. love the concept and execution of the “White Men Can’t Jump” classic. Will not be ballin’ in them though… Too flimsy around the ankle for the way I ball. Very comfortable shoe though and they definitely run big.
Aug 13, 2009 at 11:45 pm
i was thinking of getting these as my next balling shoe, but i remembered how easily my hyperdunks lasted me. not even a year. thats why im gonna wait on the lebron 7s.
Aug 13, 2009 at 10:10 pm
I bought the Billy Ho’s because that neon green is the freshness…
Ran in them today on hardwood…overall a very nice shoe for ballin’ but not really any noticable difference between these and the Hyperdunks in terms of the ride, so if you already own a pair of Hyperdunks with lots of life left…these aren’t nec. worth the purchase…just the truth.
Aug 13, 2009 at 9:11 pm
why are people luv’n these???
Aug 13, 2009 at 9:05 pm
i got my pair already.they comfy
Aug 13, 2009 at 8:07 pm
Seen OJ Mayo all in these.
Aug 13, 2009 at 7:49 pm
I own the Sidney Deane’s and practiced in them the other day just to see if I want to buy some for my upcoming season. They’re mos def light, I like the shoe a lot but when you go on your toes the flywire part folds a little weird and they run a little on the big side- which they meant they slide on my feet…. I’m kind of not sure if I want to buy some for ballin’.

Aug 13, 2009 at 5:17 pm
lol at M.A. Nike def put the best of the best in this shoe. This shoe is probably the best for balling and looks in a very long time.
Aug 13, 2009 at 5:15 pm
I had the Hyperdunks and those were good to me so these are def a cop.
Aug 13, 2009 at 5:15 pm
