Nike Shox BB4 Retro

To the delight of many Shox fans and Vince Carter fans, the Nike Shox BB4 will be getting the retro treatment in the original Black/Metallic Silver-Lapis colorway. Like so many recent Nike gems, this OG colorway will be released exclusively through the Foot Locker House of Hoops.
The Nike Shox BB4 was the first basketball shoe to feature Shox cushioning and released at the same time as the popular Shox R4 runner. A breakthrough in technology, the Shox BB4 was considered at the time to be one of the greatest performance shoes to date thanks to its use of Shox and Monkey Paw technology. Responsive, lightweight, and well cushioned, the BB4 was a favorite amongst hoopers of all positions. The shoe was the first Nike worn by Vince Carter and the birth of the VC Shox line. Nice memories of these. Not a big fan of the shoe, but I recognize the history behind them. That is what real shoeheads appreciate….the meaning behind the shoes. VC was and still is a beast on the court.

Some of you don’t care about the history of these shoes, that’s fine. Why do you like retro Jordan or Air Max shoes? Hopefully there is some reasoning behind it, and not just because they’re “sick” or “fresh”.

I remember having this pair when i was 14, the red and white colorway, I chose them over the jordan 16’s (damn!), them joints are real comfortable and great ballin’ shoes…

I had the white/red ones and loved the shoe. Very comfy and good to ball in. I’d like to see the white/red’s make a comeback as well.

Yup, vc 2’s were better. these were dope when they dropped. the red and white ones lit things up tho. couldnt cop in highschool. ima get em this time around.

i remember these, but the vc ii’s are are imo the best looking shox basketball shoes of all time. like i would actually rock the black ones right now if i saw a pair for a good price.
on another note, kamote’s alpha project comment made me think of the payton series. i really wish they would retro some of the gary payton joints from the glove to the gp ii (they lost me with the literal glove on the gp iii). ive been trying to find a pair of the black/volt air zoom gps for the longest. until i decided to buy my first js, i was definitely a gp head in high school. sorry for the rant.

For the people saying Vince Carter was weak, you obviously never saw him play. Before he got hurt in Toronto and changed his game to a shooter, he was one of the most aggressive players and well rounded players in the league. Don’t let YouTube highlights give you the wrong impression. He was an elite player for a few years.

They better stop playing and drop the Wht/Red pair. I ruined them the first day I had them and that was at the school field day. lol That was when I was 12. One of the most comfortable basketball sneakers Nike has ever produced.

Wow they can retro these after only 8-9 years…but Nike has countless numbers of other old models and colorways that we sneakerheads wait and wait and wait for to be retroed??? They should give the people what they want and have not seen in forever, HOW ABOUT THE NIKE PUMPS “BILLY HOYLES” WITH THE EXACT ORIGINAL COLORWAY AND HIGH CUT? That’s what the people want !!!

Ugly? The BB4 and the Stunna were probably 2 of maybe 5 good looking Shox basketball shoes.

Man… I remember getting a pair of these back freshman year of high school. They were my favorite pair of shoes to hoop in… But they got beat up really fast. However, the fact they are being retro’d brings back fond memories. Be lookin out for the other cws to drop too

I’m sorry, am I the only one excited about this original colorway? I had about four pairs of BB4’s back in the day, now just one beat pair. Hopefully this opens the door for a few other colorways.
