Vans Sk8-Hi + Slip-On “The Pixies”
Posted by George Kiel III | Aug 21, 2009 Earlier this year, Vans designed and unleashed a mini-pack of sneakers that was inspired by the infamous music group Bad Brains. The sneakers involved possessed many characteristics of the aforementioned group such as album covers and hobbies of the group. In the same manner, Vans has now created a pack that pays tribute to another music band; this time for American alternative rock group The Pixies.
First off, this sneaker tribute is even smaller than the previously mentioned Bad Brains Pack seeing that it only uses two classic Vans sneakers. The Sk8-Hi contains graphics on the side panels that are similar to the bands debut album cover titled Come On Pilgrim. In addition, the Slip-On model features the same graphic, yet, it is visible on the frontal section of the shoe. Both pairs own a black/white color scheme and are finished with a white rubber sole.
