Jordan L’Style One Black/Black
Posted by Alex Kroviak | Sep 16, 2009 Jordan Brand’s dominated the performance sneaker world for decades now, so the move to get some of the dress sneaker market isn’t too odd, though the Jordan L’Style’s design is.
This dual-strap high-top didn’t get too much love when we showed you the burgundy and brown models, but the motorcycle-boot inspiration gained it some respect. The black leather looks pretty quality, and the Jordan cues were kept subtle, as the winged Air Jordan logo only appears in perforation across the side. The straps are all that are used to secure these to your feet, since laces are completely absent. They’re available now for $135 at Extra Butter. Which side of the fence are you on for these? Heads to the comments section and let us know. |

These joints is hot I got a pair and they look way better when you put them on then when you looking at them. When I brought them my brother was with me and when I ask to see them in my size he was clowning them until I put them on, then he started talking about they was official

Sorry, dude. I get your joke now. I get it.

@Baba Shooey I dont get why you think this is a supra knock off. did you not read my post at all? can you post a link of a supra shoe that you’re comparing it to? you obviously dont know anything about shoe constructions

ugly

These monstrosities resemble supras way more than they look like jordans. Just cause you slap an air bubble on the midsole doesn’t mean it’s not a blatant ripoff of the supra style. You’re really kidding yourself if you think otherwise. It’s a shame that a once trendsetting company is now playing catch-up. JB doesn’t have to copy those lame ultra high tops to stay relevant.

I say these shoes are excellent for what they are meant for: BIKERS. And the fact that they look smooth and look good on your feet is insane. Have seen on someones feet and couldn’t believe what they looked like. Easy Cop.

I dont understand why some of you dont understand the design elements behind this shoe.
“JB is ripping off Supras!” ??? this has jordan written all over it. Jordan 1 outsole, jordan III air bubble on midsole, jordan 1 toe/vamp construction, Jordan VI top heel counter area with perforated holes, jodan II snakeskin look leather.
If anything, this is the best way the shoe was designed as a jordan brand lifestyle shoe. Not as corny and straight forward as the spizike and six rings shoes.
What else do you guys want? if you want jordans buy jordan retros. if you want something new don’t hate because these aren’t ‘retro’.

response i found on hypebeast:
Anon is right about the direction of the jordan l style brand.
But i believe the overall design of this shoe is right where the brand probably wants to be. Branding aside, you can easily see this sneaker in a high end store along with the balenciagas, dior hommes, maison martin margiela, etc.
Here is my theory on branding and design with this shoe as an example…
IMO, Design point of view:
Jordan L’style one > Nike air yeezy’s
Consumer’s point of view:
Nike air yeezy’s > Jordan L’style one
reason being, consumers are against anything jordan brand that isn’t a retro jordan shoe and/or colorway. If the jordan L’style ones were labeled yeezys people would be all over them because of the hype. If the yeezy’s were branded as Jordan L’style’s people would hate on them, badly.
Sep 17, 2009 at 12:17 pm
are people going to tuck their jeans in these too? why do ppl dress like this is London or something long jackets and tall shoes with girl pants, and now JB puts out these boxing shoes its a tragedy
Sep 17, 2009 at 11:10 am
TOTALLY FEELING THESE!!!
Sep 17, 2009 at 10:18 am
they’re not too bad in black, I guess, but I still won’t be getting them.
and good job saying they don’t have laces when the last picture has an extreme closeup of the laces on the bottom right.

FOR KEEPING UP WITH TODAYS STYLE THEY ON POINT…I CAN SEE SOME CLOWN WITH SKINNY JEANS WEARING THESE THINKING HE’S FLY BUT ILL PASS…

Nike Champ 718 : Hilarious!
thekid23 : I completely agree.
I’ve been saying this since the originals began being retro’d and it all started (going downhill) with that. Classics are classic for a reason. They established their own style, lead in their own way and set the trends, not followed them. A great example is the Air Jordan XI: no one ever considered patent leather on ball shoes prior and now it’s almost standard issue like rubber on soles.
Hopefully that kind of leading edge will return but at the moment, ‘enjoy’ your fusions, hybrids, .5’s, remixed, retro-retro’s, etc.
I used to be a loyal Jordan consumer but I’ve moved on and I won’t say to what unless I wanna see more biting with a Jumpman slapped onto it.
RE: this shoe? No comment.
Sep 17, 2009 at 7:36 am
the strap should be wider. Ima def cop because of the height, but brown is a more fitting color for this model. kudos JB; these were the most hideous things on the sneaker sites like two months back.
Sep 17, 2009 at 2:43 am
And the shoes are dope too…
Sep 17, 2009 at 2:42 am
All these ppl crying “Release more/only retros” seriously just pisses me right off.
Jordan Brand is a BUSINESS. They need to expand and cater for other demographics.
They do it to make $$$ & not just to please you Gen Y sneakerheads tryin to catch up on past Air Jordan glory. So if u dont like it, dont buy it. Dont sit there and write comments on what the Jordan
Brand should or should not do. What the f@ck do you know?!
Sep 17, 2009 at 1:58 am

Sep 16, 2009 at 10:24 pm
ok im am so up set right now it seems like jordan brand is just going with what these new age people think is cooll jordan brand use to set the trends for what is cool but now there just following the line i mean i am a jordan head because it sets me apart from others i love the shoes and we are our own culture and we thrive off og’s and retros so lets get back to the heart of being a sneaker heads and dont worry about this crap jb is putting out stick with your og’s and retros and pray that one day nike and jb and many others will realize that they are killing something amazing and magical
Sep 16, 2009 at 10:12 pm

Sep 16, 2009 at 10:01 pm

Sep 16, 2009 at 7:50 pm
JB is ripping off Supras! I hate supras, but they must be popular if Jordan is copying them.
Sep 16, 2009 at 7:16 pm

Sep 16, 2009 at 6:00 pm
embarassing attempt at a fashion fwd, lux style style shoe. it’s so lame when a brand strays off and be something it’s not.
Sep 16, 2009 at 5:11 pm
Not for $135. Maybe not even for $35.
Sep 16, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Do these come in a bundle with tight jeans and a small hoody?
Sep 16, 2009 at 4:49 pm
can’t please everyone, but straps plus laces? ….for the middle aged handicapped..huh?
I like the smoooth leather.
Sep 16, 2009 at 4:40 pm
I would wear with some jeans or something. Now that the weather is changing I would get them so I wouldn’t have to mess up my grails. The white bottom on these throw them off though. Shoulda been all black.
Sep 16, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Wait, aren’t there laces under the straps?
Sep 16, 2009 at 4:35 pm
