Michael Jordan Hall of Fame Induction Recap

Michael Jordan Hall of Fame

In the recent past, September 11th has undoubtedly been a day for mourning and remembrance of a tragic day in American history. However, this past September 11th was another one to remember in more of a positive way. Yesterday, Michael Jordan, the world’s greatest basketball player to ever step foot on the hardwood, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

For the most part, everyone that had something to do with MJ’s career was in attendance. Teammates such as Scottie Pippen, Toni Kukoc, Steve Kerr and Dennis Rodman were there as well as former competitors including Isaiah Thomas, Charles Barkley, Coach Pat Riley and John Stockton (who was also inducted into the Hall of Fame). Although Jordan shed a couple of tears, this moment will forever go down as one of the more happiest and memorble moments in basketball history. Click here to view multiple photos of the induction ceremony.

He was great but after he came back from baseball, they let him travel. must have averaged 8 points a game off that shuffle-your-pivot foot and go step.

as far as his speech. you always have a choice to make. you let it go and be a postiive force or you hang on to it be a negative force. he was a negative force, made himself look small and self-absorbed. good luck to him though

  2. L0renz

Mike is the GOAT. He can say whatever he wants to say and if its calling out the people who did him wrong I applaud him because they made him what he is. If I was standing there I be doing the same thing.

  3. Professor C

No matter what a black man achieves, especially those on top of their game, the white media has been known to demoralize and desensitize all the good they’ve done. Tiger, Kobe, AI,Rasheed,Dennis Rodman, MIke Tyson, Ron Artest, MIke Vick, and not just Athletes…Marvin Gaye, 2pac, Michael Jackson, and the list goes on. Mike is Mike and all those attributes are what he’s made of, what drives his competitive spirit, what got him into the HOF and the title G.O.A.T. Even today, it a shame that we still use other peoples prejudices as fuel for fire to keep ahead of the rest.

  4. Feet 1st

but he did deserve every penny of his lucrative contract, the man played with his soul. he felt for the game and everybody involved in it thats why he said what he said. this probably was the last time he will speak publically to that many mofo’s so he said what he felt and i respect him for that.

  5. Slick_253

I damn near cried listening to his speech. He is the Greatest of All Time. Give the man his props. His game will surely be missed. Thank goodness for Youtube!! we will continue to enjoy his greatest moments forever!!

  6. atomic sushi

huge huge huge huge HUGE jordan fan, but i have to say his speech was done in bad taste. he’s a far better man than that. didnt even thank tim grover. dont u think luc longley or ron harper deserved to be namedropped more than bryon russeLL?

  7. Feet 1st

damn i hope Lebron dont act like that when he gets inducted. Grumpy old man to say the least.

  8. P Millah

Love ya Mike. I always brag about the time we kicked it back in tha day with Gangstarr in the V.I.P @ the Glow nightclub. (Chicago) It’s one of my favorite MJ moments kicking it, on some playa shiit.

  9. Sneaker Junkie

Arrogant, but still the greatest of all time.

  10. duke

the nba need to retire his number and only let the people that has it now continue to were it.

  11. Joel

dude was i the only one that shed man tears at the ceremony?

  12. MJSF

    GOAT being GOAT

  13. I23o

Fresh prince is on point f all yall haters and get the status first then talk b*tches, congrats mj for the enshrinment as the G.O.A.T

  14. 85AirStar

Umm, one of u cats called MJ, the “Jay-Z of Basketball”. U got cha signals crossed homie. Jigga is jigga and MJ is MJ. Jigga has done his thing, but it is NOTHIN compared to what His Airness has done for the game of basketball!!! LOL, rookie!!!

Anyway, tha “Greatest Of All Time”, this man is basketball. Buying these shoes doesnt begin to show my gratitude, or my devotion as a fan. I’m glad to have been able to watch him bump heads with Magic, Clyde tha Glide, Sir Charles, Shaq, Tha Glove, Nique, Zeke, and numerous others. From Rockin tha Cradle to the Shot heard around the world, Michael has changed my view on tha game forever…..

    MUCH LOVE MJ

  15. SnEaKea JaY!

Greatest player in da history of basketball… he did it big no matta watt it camm to. Thinking back when i was little i used to watch Space Jam and go crazy just to see the kicks he wore. His been a major fact in my life. One of the reason im a hooper now. He’ll always be the greatest no matta wat no one says. Da “reaL” mj!

  16. obatron1 aka Ed-Ski

Dude is the G.O.A.T. no doubt. As far as his speech goes that was one of the realest speeches I’ve seen at one of these events. Most folks take the politician route and used a handcrafted speech. Yeah sure some folks say he should have pulled some of those punches…but in the world where just about everyone is scared to speak their mind Jordan proved to us once again that no one was going to stop him from being him. Gotta love that isht.

  17. Drew

ya’ll r some HATERS.. do ya’ll kno how long he’s prolly been wanting to say tht?? it wasn’t some planned written, watered-down speech.. its not like he went ova the top and just started cursin out people unnecessarily, he said he was always a competitive person and it came out when he was talking. the point is though tht ya’ll need to grow up.. Mike will be baqq from ring 7 when he turns 50 lol jk

  18. GotemSneakerCrew

    GREATEST.

  19. w0lf

the man speaks the truth and earned the respect that he deserve…. I don’t care about all this losers here because given a chance all this haters will be chasing MJ’s retro kicks to the rest of their pathetic life… Congrats MJ and def excited to see him at 50 en still ballin… also can’t wait the kicks that he’ll be wearin.

  20. Rex

Y’all needa stop hating, Michael Jordan changed the shoe industry, the world. For one moment, appreciate what he gave to us, to the game.

  21. surgenyc

Look at the numbers, look at the rings, look at his game. MJ did it all and for all ya haters stop talking sh*t because everyone here was a jordan fan at one point. He took the game to another level and if it wasnt for him this sneaker sh*t would have never popped off. He can say whatever he wants cause he’s done it all. Long live the real king.

  22. Rodrockwell

After reading the comments I thought the speech was going to be much worse than what it was. I would have dissed Isiah and Jerry Krause too! He gave props to Scottie, his family and others. And even when he was giving the guys ish about some things it was still light-hearted. Relax. It could have been worse. Considering he’s the greatest basketball player to ever walk the face of the earth, the speech was pretty humble.

  23. BXBORO

Jordan was an asshole thruout most of his speech….granted he’s the greatest, but humble down dude u in the hall of fame, known worldwide, got the only kick line…..mad cuz he cant come bak from retirement now….what more u want??

  24. jordan

congrats micheal the greatest ever and forever.that was a very competitive speech.i like that in micheal.

  25. fresh prince

Man its Mike Jordan he can say what the hell he want.. When y’all loser get his status that’s when your opinion really matter.

  26. Petah

I agree with you guys, He was outstanding, I was a huge jordan fan and still am but gettin back at those who crossed his path at the age of 46 on live television, jeeeeez let it go man, U showed them up with rings, money and fame that they never did and never will accomplish!! Outstanding player but what a dick…. By the way Jayz is not the best of all time not by a long shot( Nas,Big Pun, Eminem…..)

  27. flipflipflipfilipinoflip

“never say never.. because limits like fears are often just an illusion”

  28. jayman

came on imfreshtilldef if you going to compare jordan to the best his like tupac of basket

  29. imfreshtilldef

    Heart warming speech…

Definitly could have used a betta tailor lOl

But still…congrats to Michael Jeffery Jordan…

    The Jay-Z of basketball

  30. electrorock

    greatest player ever…..
    most arrogant player ever…..
after being recognized as by everyone that he is the greatest, he still cant be humble. take a leaf out of robinson or stocktons book…..

  31. nike4life21

Congrats MJ you most definitely deserve it. Now as far as his speech I really enjoyed it no script , no censors , no nothing just from the heart. Which is indicative of how the man played the game and he played it the best any human being before him ever played it. If you didnt dig it thats ok you are entitled to your feelings just dont try to diminish all that MJ represents then and especially now. The G.O.A.T.

  32. Og Jay

Did you see his HOT girlfriend sitting by him and his mom!!! Way to go playa!!!

  33. jhov

mj speech was like all those fusions

  34. Spradley

lmao. his pants are HUUGE! i dont blame him 4 callin out da people who did him wrong, but grow a d!ck n get over it

  35. Nike Champ 718

I liked how he dropped the s-bomb on live TV.

Oakley is looking old as hell these days.

  36. flyboy23

michael said it before that he won’t make a speech but just speak from the heart…….speak for urself balla

  37. kicks king

    hey @ Balla,
dont be listenin to the medias opinion bout his speech. you prolly dont even kno wat petty means. u prolly didnt even hear the speech at all.
    think for urself

  38. greenmaker24

    cool

  39. Shawti P

I love mj. the speech was great, he kept it SOOO real. That’s something ya’ll homos know nothing about. Congratulations sir!

  40. Simple D

F**k all of ya’ll haters. MJ is the best, his speech was aight but what else can you expect he just a normal human like all of us with a lot of pressure on him, it’s not his fault if he can’t be awesome all of the time.

  41. hahaha

    his speech sucked.

  42. Joe

Hit pants look hugeeee!!! No homo, but look how wide they look compared to everybody standing around him.

On another note, i wasnt feeling his speech at all. Still tryin to settle the score between people and hardly mentioning his family or people who really helped him along the way such as his trainer. It was great he got inducted into the Hall of Fame but his speech was a total let down. Thats Mike though for ya.

  43. urbanmiracle

As a Knicks fan, I hate him, but I give him the utmost respect for what he’s done to the game of basketball and the shoe game. He gave all the greats before him so much respect (chamberlain, elgin baylor etc) and he loves the game. Much love MJ.

  44. Balla

The Best Ever, but it was a pretty petty speech. Damn near hard to watch. Let it go Michael.

  45. Dr J2006

    GOAT! Nuff said

  46. JoseBronx_NT

nice, one of the greatest basketball players of all time :hat

  47. j_dawg
