It’s been 16 years since the Nike Air Carnivore first dropped. And while the wild style and super high ankle strap may have irked some, two colorways are up for a retro release next summer. We featured this unique lace-less trainer last year on Throwback Thursday, and they received a lot of love and support for a retro release. By summer 2010, it will have taken almost two years for your calls to have been answered, but whether it was the crazy colors, the Durabuck synthetic panels, or the Neoprone construction that allowed an unprecedented amount of breathability that got you hooked, next summer should be a good one for fans of this design. Are you excited about this retro, or is this one design you just can’t get behind? |

i got 3 colorways the OG green/purp the black/purple and red. Just the other dayy i said wouldnt it be cool if they dropped again. Almost 70% of my sneakers are older then 2001. These nd my og Raptor 7 and my og white/black 10 are my prizes thank youuu

These are the dopest crosstrainer to ever come out and im getting both pairs and these will not be rocked with baggy jeans but with straight leg jeans and shorts or cargo shorts. Thank you Nike for bringing these back

These were the pinnacle of fresh when these came out…in NYC these were well over $100 bucks these were reserved for drug dealers and dudes from Brooklyn. People are showing their age with the negative comments. These were the top cross trainers. For Nike to go so outside the box with the ankle strap and no laces. These had no athlete endorsement and still every kid in nyc wanted them. There was also a pair of black and dark purple. So those that know these came out in the era when the seperate ankle strap sneaker was big performance wise- see Air Unlimited and Air Too Strongs. So saying i can’t wait to get these is an understatement, and just means it will be easier for me to get two pairs of each. (also for the record-around this time that color scheme of purple, green and white or grey was soooo popular that nike made a few different models in that color)

Gotta recop. Had these when I was 12 years old. My mom thought i was crazy buying these with my new years money. And some of these people are too young to know about these bad boys. I had such a large growth spurt that I busted out of the front of these. I’m glad they bringing it back.
*comfort level on these are ridonkulous. Plus no laces. Sub teenager dream back then.

Those that know their kicks game know these is like volcano lava now all they need to do is retro them Air Unlimited as well and my faith in the swoosh will be restored.

I love that Nike is bringing many retro sneakers back. Its good for the people who couldn’t afforrd or missed em the first time around. I hope to see more retro sneakers (Air Force V) return.

Oh yeah, I sold a pair of these on ebay in 2005 for $1000. It hurt me like crazy to sell them, but these shoes helped towards my wedding expenses

I remember watching a dude get the black/raisin(THE BEST) colorway of these taken right off his feet. Shoes like these are the reason sneakerheads give their life for this art. Coppin is not even up for discussion. Multiple pairs will be bought. Even if you don’t like them, understand what they were and appreciate the 92-93 season. When polo ski & teddy bear sweaters was the ish. Nike tennis hats with the adjustable straps and agassi logo. Only newbie wannabe sneakerheads would try & deny these. People who hate on these are really in the dark. the Air Carivores released about 1993 and sold quite well. They are training shoes and I picked up a pair of the green ones in Hong Kong at a Footlocker. Nike then released many LWP shoes with similar designs, such as the Air Scream, the LWP Agassi and the Air Unlimited. the Air Scream and Unlimited had cutouts on the upper like the Carnivores’ ankle strap above that kinda looked like 2 eyes and a mouth.
