Yesterday, we showed you the London version of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII which represents “Tradition” in LeBron’s six credos of life. As we have seen recently, whenever there is a white/green colorway of the Air Max LeBron VII, a custom version is sure to follow. That said, this multi-colored, customized Air Max LeBron VII was designed by London artist Billie Jean. As with previous customized Air Max LeBron VII colorways, this shoe also owns a plethora of qualities that are inspired by James’s life and the respective city. “The inspiration for this shoe design came from Londoner’s indomitable spirit during the Blitz, which has become folklore“, says Billie Jean. Specifically, the sneaker is inspired by traditional and non-traditional London motifs. For example, the flames seen on the side panel represents the Great Fire in 1666 which completely changed the physical look of the city. There are also images of an Indian Lady and Africa patterns which symbolize London’s culturally, diverse population. In addition, the Thames River is seen on the inside of each shoe. Seriously, who cares about throwing a pair of kicks in a glass box to “admire”? Sneakers are meant to be worn, PERIOD! If you want to show off ur shoe game it’s real easy to throw on ya hardest OG or limited release joints, hit the mall or where ever it gets popping, and break necks. I remember when I grow up when we were called B-Boy break dancers on the street, and we would travel from New York, Philly, and as far as Chicago, with our shell tops Adidas and the Puma’s and everytime we won a show or contest we would add designs from the city we went to on our white on white kicks until it was filled like the kicks in the picture. It’s crazy how things come back in style. Wow I should be the idea man for NIKE.
