Adrian Peterson’s Shoe Collection
Posted by Alex Kroviak | Oct 19, 2009
They call him “All Day,” “A.P.,” or just “Adrian,” but however you refer to him, the Vikings’ running back is one of the most dominant forces in the game of football. And thanks to this ESPN inveterview with Rachel Nichols, we now know that his shoe collection may be just as impressive as his on-field ability. Peterson displayed a portion of his collection, which is as sloppily-kept as it is large. Interestingly enough, the collection was also extremely diverse, especially considering that Peterson is Nike’s premier football spokesman. And if you thought that NBA players were the only athletes that required new shoes each game, think again, as the first half of the video covers A.D.’s on-field cleat preferences, which includes mid-game switches and sizing down for comfort. And you won’t believe what he claims to have spent on his collection in his lifetime. Click here to see the video. |

Tight Pants the AJ5’s are retros. They came out in 89/90 and only the fire red had the 23 stitched on the heel. Those with 23 on the heel are from the 18/5 pack.

daaamn!!! 40 pairs in one season just on field?? this one lucky dude. and i didn’t see anything weak in there either. except those weird loafers he was holding. haha.
Oct 19, 2009 at 5:56 pm
nike 718 your an idiot…if you were in his position u wouldnt be campin outside haha you will be on ya phone to nike sayin ” i want such and such” i hate dumb asses like u…dr evil genius is right you didnt see all his kicks…
Oct 19, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Ok tri-UM-pf I see what you are saying but you have to remember that before he got drafted, he might not have been able to afford nice kicks. Maybe he is just getting into the shoe game now that he can afford it, maybe the interview didn’t show all of his collection.
Oct 19, 2009 at 4:02 pm
the nickname isnt AP, its AD, dont believe everything u hear, or read. not every1 goes by their initials
Oct 19, 2009 at 2:52 pm
agreed @cgdreams..im sure he prolly has some heat it there its not like the interviewer took out the time to go through every pair of shoes in his closet. 200k worth of shoes lets be honest something in that closet had to cost a pretty penny.
Oct 19, 2009 at 2:21 pm
AP is the man, he’s Lebron James of the NFL. If I had his bread my shoe collection would be sick too. I would rather him say “I always loved kicks but I could never afford them but now that I’m down with Nike, I’m getting everything” or “Nike hit me me with free sh*t all day and I’m going nut”. I wont come out and front like I been in hot pursuit for these or paying for it. Lets be real, your not going to have a contract with Nike and still have to pay for your shoes. AP is my dude but he probably dont know anything about Army green foams or Air force 180’s. If I was down with Nike, I wouldn’t een have retros. I would have a closet full of samples!
Oct 19, 2009 at 2:13 pm
dont hate on his game.ya he got a contract but he still love sneakers.and b/c he has a nike contract and he can get them whenever he likes,im sure you would do the same thing if you were in his position…Just cause you may get it differently doesn’t mean your cheating idiots….And he a beast on the field
Oct 19, 2009 at 1:42 pm
true sneaker head or not, he’ll run over anybody in this post.
Oct 19, 2009 at 1:35 pm
What it all boils down to is yall hating seriously his collection is for him its wat he appreciates o what he likes he coulda been homeless and evrything before he got a deal and thats why he has the shoes he has……mite not even be a real sneaker head but he has what he likes and hes on the commercial and guess wat he can get pretty much whatever he wants i dont know about anyone else if i can skip the middle man and just hit up nike directly id be all over it cuz i dont even like camping now nor will u catch me camping cuz guess what i skip the middle part and have a connect at stores we all do it to an extent so we just need to stop the hating he got the deal house cars and everything most of us envy but i guess thats why i guess people can hate on him but i dont like him cuz imma packers fan lol but he is the best in the game

Max, imfresh….., d.knott01, great points made. I stand corrected.
Oct 19, 2009 at 1:20 pm
Nike said to AP ” when you show your shoe collection make sure and have the newmly released stuff featured…we need to use this face time to feature what we are trying to sell…..” Thats the real reason we didn’t see heat……..he is spokesman, the man is trying to sell shoes

My favorite player, on my favorite team, now doin my favorite past time (collecting sneakers). Lots of famous people try to find a shoe game when they got money to spend and nothin else to buy. Respect to ANY sneaker fiend…New to the game, or O.G.

i don’t think your gross profit has much of anything to do with your appreciation for shoes.
just think, if you made 20k a year or 100k or 1milli, sex is sex. sure because of your duckets you may get more thrown at you, but you won’t appreciate it any less actively seek it. yeah you may not have to hit the bars or put in all the work, and yeah that change the process and alter the total experience all that matters is that you’re gettin it.
which one of you wouldn’t like for jordan brand to send you exclusive ish just because you are who you are, or get invited to 21 mercer street to design your own AF1?
of course camping out can be cool, or hunting down a pair on the net, or finding a great pair for a bargain price. but at the end of the day all that matters is whats on your feet, whats in your closet, and how YOU feel about them.
Oct 19, 2009 at 12:42 pm
i respect A.P. as a football player and a person…he probably was into kicks like all of us but just couldnt copp as much as he wanted..maybe he was too busy trying to make it to the NFL!!! idk jus my opinion…i aint gonna hate on his collection…he might not b a “true” sneakerhead like many of us but let him rock…hes a cool dude
Oct 19, 2009 at 12:31 pm
AP is the man, he obviously has wayy more money than just about any of us. It can’t be as exciting for him to get a new pair when he knows that he can get damn near whatever he wants. I love the hunt for the shoes.
Oct 19, 2009 at 12:27 pm
C’mon on son, I would have a shoe collection too…IF I HAD A NIKE CONTRACT LIKE HE DOES!!! he doesn’t even have to buy shoes. He puts an order in and he either picks them up or they get sent to him. He can order the entire jordan line-up with one phone call. Thats not collecting, thats cheating.
Oct 19, 2009 at 12:26 pm
cgdreams I do agree with you %100 but in the video, it seems that he just copped every release since he was drafted. They’re not bad, but since he probably barely knows the history behind his kicks, the true names, the street names, I doubt he’s a real sneakerhead. Just a hypebeast with connects, and cash.
Oct 19, 2009 at 12:10 pm
everybody talkin bout he has no “heat”.. i think heat, is relative to the person. one’s sneaker collection isnt to satisfay others, only to satisfy yourself.
Oct 19, 2009 at 12:07 pm
yeah if your rich then sneakers mean no more than the food you eat. especially if you got a deal with nike. If i was rich i wouldnt even buy as many shoes. I would keep buying blazers, Lebrons and acg’s with the exception of a few retro Jays.
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:53 am
I’ve never been impressed by the sneaker games of celebrities. They have lots of money, so it’s not like they have to go all out for a pair of kicks like you or me. You won’t see them getting up early on a Saturday morning to cop. No camping out. No dealing with rape prices on Flight Club or eBay. Just call Nike and say, “Hey, comp me a pair of such and such.” No props for that.
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:52 am
I am pretty sure he uses his money on more useful things than kicks.. $200K is about how much I would spend on kicks if I could find some rare Air.
He has kicks all over his house and we only saw his closet. I am pretty sure he has OGs and retros from here to next year.
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:50 am
no heat what so ever it looked like mostly recent realeases and cdp’s
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:39 am
Its a shame. He has a whole lot more banked income than me and killin his collection isn’t even an accurate description.
Music, shoes, ball, quotes. Follow it all and me @JumpmanJas
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:28 am
I didn’t really see any heat in his collection
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:26 am
200 pairs? thats it, with the money he got i thought he was gone spit out a mayor or clark kent number.
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:13 am
all day everday MVP
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:12 am
200,000 aint nothin Id be breaking the bank if I had it like that. Buying shoes I may never get a chance to even wear. But I like AP
Oct 19, 2009 at 11:04 am
that sounds pretty reasonable. if i had unlimited access and tons of money id do the same thing. gotta stay fresh.
