First Look: DJ AM x Nike Dunk High Premium
Posted by Alex Kroviak | Nov 30, 2009 When Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, passed away months ago, the sneaker community lost one of its own. As an avid collector, AM had some amazing and rare sneakers. And while his eBay auction for charity has been your best bet at grabbing a pair of his sneakers, we finally get a look at his official collaboration Nike Dunk High Premium.
AM left a clue to these on his Twitter page, tweeting that he finally had designed is own Dunk. Now we see why he was so happy. These feature black patent leather on the heel flap and toe box. Not only is the Swoosh 3M relfective materials, but the materials behind the perforated patent is as well. Red leather fills in the rest of the sneaker, while a white midsole and black outsole are also used. His ACDC-inspired logo completes the look on the tongue and gives credit where credit is due. The pattern used for the dots along the heel come from the tool that gave AM his fame–the Technics 1200 turntable. The perforated circles are stacked four tall, with one being far larger than the others. The black patent leather then represents the shiny vinyls spinning on top. |

Malc B , You my friend are trippin hella hard. Do not be butt hurt because I put down an artist you obviously like. I said he lost respect in my book for suicide.. I did however say that the kicks are sicker than a overdose, making your point invalid

These are nice. I’m sure the hype will be marking these up in price. But, I love these and if I get a chance to cop, I will. RIP

Perceps , sorry but I mean it. He cheated death too many times to let him self go so stupidly. My vision on suicide is that it is the cheap way out, and you should deal with your troubles. No respect to those. They either wanted a cheap cop out, or attention.
Before that incident I was a huge DJ AM fan and was highly anticipating these kicks. They are still amazing, but yea… That kinda killed it for me (no pun intended)

Dopeee !

A very well thought-out shoe I have to say a lot of detail put into the making not just with choice of material but some unique features , put together really well even if it didn’t have Dj AM’s name on it and it was a GR i would still definitely cop
Nov 30, 2009 at 6:22 pm
if it weren’t for that patent leather these would be amazing
Nov 30, 2009 at 6:08 pm
Wow rising_tied, you’re a dooche!
Nov 30, 2009 at 5:59 pm
It’s great that DJ Am got to do this collab before he passed and it’s no wonder why he would be excited about these. This dunk is sick and will definitely be copped if released.
Nov 30, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Dont support suicide..
But I support these dunks
Nov 30, 2009 at 3:53 pm

Nov 30, 2009 at 1:20 pm
that patent ‘leather’ or should i say vinyl doesnt look good on dunks imo.if they had nothing to do with AM nobody would like them..shouldve made him a jordan iv
Nov 30, 2009 at 1:07 pm
ONE OF THE CLEANEST DUNKS EVER ….VERY NICE TIBUTED
Nov 30, 2009 at 1:06 pm

robdeign13: you must’ve been hiding under a rock for the past few years.
these are dope…i wonder how many pairs they’re going to make.
Nov 30, 2009 at 12:09 pm
These are sick! I must have! Whats up with a release?
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:52 am
A very nice shoe indeed. I need to have a couple pairs of these….something I rarely say anymore.
Though Adam is no longer with us, I know he is smiling seeing how people are reacting to his work. RIP.
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:48 am
damn he OD’d. Thats just sad. I dont see why people do stuff like that. especially the financialy stable. I mean money is better than drugs any and everyday.
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:46 am
the perferation on the back is for the record player. a nice touch.
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:46 am
Don’t lie to yourself people. Aside from the Gucci SB’s these are the hardest Dunks of 2009. The 3M swoosh and 3M behind the patent leather on the back goes in! I am truly sad that DJ AM isn’t around to get to see everyone gobble these kicks up.
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:40 am
FUGGIN GOOD FOOT FIRST can u be anymore disrespectful…RIP DJ AM…the dunks go hard
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:40 am
would have hoped that am’s kicks would have been doper than this.
ah well, rip homie
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:31 am
Very sick dunk! AM deserved it. He was so excited about these.
Nov 30, 2009 at 11:24 am
Not gonna gas them off the strength of DJ AM’s name alone, the patent leather kills them. Nothing special about them.
Nov 30, 2009 at 10:40 am
i will purchase.. mucho respect!
Nov 30, 2009 at 10:37 am
nothing special, but that leather on the tongue looks nice!
Nov 30, 2009 at 10:37 am

Nov 30, 2009 at 10:37 am

Nov 30, 2009 at 10:36 am

Nov 30, 2009 at 10:31 am
I’m copping these for sure
Nov 30, 2009 at 10:30 am
Oh WOW…this is one of the sickest dunks I’ve seen in a while. Very dope…
